I was at EB today and found 6 copies of Culdcept new for 19.99 and the Pre owns were 17.99. Normally I see this game for 39.99 steady and alot of people talk about it, and I thought this might be a nice deal. I checked the other three EB stores locally and found the same prices. Anyways Happy Hunting.

Yup, both nearby EBs (nearby is used very loosely) had a ton of used copies of this one. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty much brand new, just had the shrink wrap taken off.
Also, if you have the EB card, the price goes down to about $16.

i did. i bought the game at $20 used there, $18 with the 10% off. it was in perfect condition.

Yes, I was at EB the other day and I noticed many used Culdcepts. Now if I could just find a new one, or a Robotech CE, or Dark Cloud, or.... :wink:
The manager at my local EB said that they get new copies, unwrap them and put them on the shelf to sell as used. I got one in perfect condition too.
Gamestop does the same thing with the new PSX Greatest Hits (FF Anthology, FF Chronicles, Xenogears)..

you must be luckly then, my eb unwraps the games, throw frisbee with them, dent the cases and sticker all over them, then sell them as brand new.

Hmm... okay so its not just my Eb then... I noticed a Used Culdcept in the bin and it still even had the sony seal intact at the top, I thought it was a litle bizarre but this explanation makes sense (not why they do it, but how they did it) They aslo seem to have a bunch of Gungrave's too, maybe these games aren't so rare after all.

Got Culdcept at EBGames B&M in Spfd, MO for 18$ used, saw new there for $40. Excellent condition, game had even been left in case, not taken out like they usually do.

I paid full price for this game at launch ($39.99) and it is worth every penny. It's an absolute steal at these prices, so grab them while you can. As for rare, I'd say it is. Of all the game retailers in my area, and I have just about all of them, EB is the only one who even carries this game. I play a few levels of this game in between other titles. Just about finished with Castlevania, so will be taking my Culdcept break before Onimusha 3. Cheers.

It's is fairly rare, for a game less than 8 months old. I think EB must have decided there's lots of people that would buy the game at a cheap price. :?

I think because NEC is out of business and EB doesn't want to send the stock back? Just a guess.

same here, they said something about the company discontinuing the production of culdcept. so what eb has right now is the last shipment and they are obligated to sell them as used. (not sure why they're obligated...) its cheap, its new, only its opened... :roll: mine seemes brand new as well...
