Need help setting up home network

I have 2 pcs, one running windows 2000 pro and the other running win xp home. Itried using the win xp networking program but it doesnt work with win 2000. I also tried using a prog called netmagic but that requires internet explorer, which i removed from win 2000. Both of my computers are connected to my di-524 wireless router. How do i set it up so that i can share files between the 2 computers? Currently, im using ftp, bur i need something faster, since i have alot of stuff to move.

If its a lot of stuff to move all at once then be done with, Id pull the HDrive and put it as a 2nd in one machine for a couple hours. Transfer away. Put back when done.

If its back and forth alot, networking is the way to go.
