Anyone have a good recommendation for a place to find older laptops cheap? I just need basic internet functionality + Microsoft Office (Win 95/98 are fine). CD-R/W is a plus. I'm trying to find a reliable site as opposed to ebay, since Id like to buy 2-3 identical models. Looking to spend $200-250 shipped. These are for our small business.

Any recommendations are truly appreciated!!! Thanks CAGers!

Looking for 2-3 for $250 or $250 for just one? If you don't mind me asking, do you need to get laptops or would you just prefer them for their convenience, because you could get a pretty solid desktop for $250.

Check around Ebay for laptops, it might take a fair amount of searching to get what you are looking for but I know they have a variey of older computers like what you described.

We travel a lot, so we need laptops. They've got some decent ones going for this price range on eBay, but I'm a little wary about buying used laptops on there because I'm putting these on the company expense account and I'm worried that I don't really know what I'm going to get. We may resort to desktops but I wanted to know if there were any reliable sites that sold older laptops.

eBay. If you look enough, you can get a gem. I got a Toshiba Satellite w/ 650 mhz for $110 with working battery and DVD player.

The key is to go to like page 15 after all of the laptops that people have promoted to be seen first. These ones always go for less, because less people see them.

I got a spectacular deal at Circuit City. I recommend checking them out to see if they have any cheap open-box deals. They typically have laptops for $499 or $549 (this week, it's a nice one for $549 with 512MB RAM and a 60GB drive). I scored a Toshiba Satellite with a 40GB drive, 1.3 Celeron, DVD, CDRW, 802.11g wireless, and 256MB RAM for $300 after rebate with a free printer.
