Hey, I just got a new PC which I had to semi-build. The mobo was already installed. Everything seems to be working except for the speakers. According to the manual for the mother board (ASUS P4P800X) it has an ADI AD 1888 SounMAX 6-channel audio CODEC S/PDIF out interface support as the sound card. My speakers are plugged in to the right hole but it's not detecting them. The sound controls don't appear and I can't get to them manually through the start menu. I am getting beeps and boops from the computer itself though. Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you go through the boot menu and see if the onboard audio is enabled?

If you go into your Device Manager, does it have any question marks listed?

It sounds like you don't have the drivers installed.

Yup! Drivers! Run the installation from the CD.

Yup, it was the drivers. I'm ashamed. Thanks though.
