OMFG YES!! That movie is worth 20 dollars. Best movie I have ever seen in my life. It makes you think on so many levels. For a person like me, whom has depression, it is amazing!

I'd say it was worth more than $10. I don't know if I've ever seen such a freaky yet thought-provoking movie either. For $10 its a steal. Where are you buying it from? I've been wanting to pick this up for a while.

If you can't find it anywhere else for less, Amazon has it for $11.24.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005V3Z4/qid=1083624631/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/103-9013297-0219057?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846

And yes, it is really good and interesting. I wouldn't say it was particularly deep, as a lot of people would just think that the plot was self-conflicting and inconsistent. It does make you think, it is really entertaining, and if you like 80's music like Echo and the Bunnymen and Joy Division this movie was actually made specifically for you.

yes, it is a great movie, but it's not a deal, it's ten dollars at most places.

Apparently the director's cut is coming out this summer in the theater so..

Should be able to get it for less than 10$.

Be prepared though, some people HATE the movie, some dont. So just be prepared.

(you might want to wait though, as Ive heard there is a special extended edition coming out that makes more sense.

I think one of the reasons people hate the movie is that the director left some scenes out, in the commentary he said he didnt want it to be too easy to understand, but really I think the studio told him to trim it. Anyway, what he cut out is important.

This is an awesome movie. After I saw it I went out and bought the DVD for like.. 15$. It was WELL spent. Sweet deleted scenes. Definitely one hell of a good movie. Jake Gyllenhall(Donnie Darko) is an awesome actor. He nails the... odd depressed person sterotype very well.

Where did you find what they cut out? I'd be really interested in knowing what was missing. I didn't think the movie was all that confusing, but I might have interpreted it wrong.

Oh, right. Obviously from the DVD. Sorry.

Didn't like it so much, at all really...seemed like a film school movie with lots of prodcution funds. Hated the editing too.

Also, everywhere I see it is about $10.

I didn't hate it because it had deleted scenes or because it didn't make sense, i hated it because it was a bad movie. I also hate that just because a movie is confusing or makes you think it is automatically good, and everyone wants to buy it. Have you guys ever watched a real movie? I'm really glad i only watched my friends copy and didn't waste my money on it.

I feel the same way...of the 4 film classes I've taken i've only met about 3 people that felt similar. It's boggling to think what kind of chum these so-called future filmmakers will create.

after seeing it on many favorite movie lists I decided to rent it last week...over at IMDB its listed i think in the top 100 movies of all time..

its not that good...its a fine film for depressed 16 yr olds but as a movie it was rather unoriginal and sorry but its not very deep...

there really isnt anything special about the movie but its ok..

I rate it 6.5 out of 10.

There are hundreds of better movies but the young today have seen so few of them that they think this movie is great.

I thought it was an okay movie worth a viewing or two. Good soundtrack and the DVD had some good extra features. I nabbed it for five bucks a couple months ago when foxstore.com had a 10 dollar March Madness coupon.

Fight Club was easily better dark film..if not the best in the last 10 years...Donnie Darko is just a basic underground indie style film that I think many youths associated with.

i own it, but i bought it used for $6. that being said, it's a good movie as long as you don't take it too seriously. there are some pretty funny parts/lines in the movie. i've found that people try to read more into the movie though, especially the parts where donnie talks to his therapist. if i had a dime for every time i heard someone use the line "every living thing dies alone" i'd probably have a couple of bucks.

i'm not quite sure how this movie gained it's cult status, but overall i give the movie 3.5 out of 5, which on my scale equates to worth buying for $10 or less.

Im a big fan of the movie, I thought jakes acting was top notch and the direction was fantastic in my opinion. richard kelley first time screenwriter/first time director, outstanding job.

The sound track is as good as it gets for me. I enjoyed this movie immensely but I agree with whomever said the editing wasnt the best.

If you have any knowledge of stephen hawking's ideas this movie shouldnt be a reach.

I did'nt really care much for this flick. I can however see the appeal to the teenage population
