Even on pre-orders? I know that's true for in-stock games, but since this is a pre-order I'm thinking we'll just get an email in the next month or so saying something like:

With the GameStop pricing error a few weeks ago we all got 20% off coupons, which is an OK but not great deal since as far as I know it can't be combined with the free shipping coupon. That said, EB Games is a different company and does seem to have a better track record of honoring these types of mistakes...

I think MSRP is $30 since that's what it's listed as at Gamestop and because all DS games are at least $30 (Ping Pals was $20, but that doesn't count because it's ridiculously stupid.)

When they fucked up on the price of DK: JB with the bongos ($34.99 instead of $54.99), they honored it, though it took a lot of convincing.

They normally do honor their pricing mistakes, unlike GS, as we all know from the whole Colessum crapfest.

And $10 isn't that much of a pricing mistake, anyway. If it was $9.99, I could see them saying no.

Any pre-orders get relegated to their own order #. So, if you do two pre-orders and two in-stock items on the same shopping trip, you get three order #'s, each with its own shipping charge.

Just came back from an EB Games store, and it was listed at $20. Anytime I put money down on a game that went up in price later, I always got it for the same price it was when I reserved it.

I just checked my Nintendog's preorder ticket, and it doesn't have a price on it, just a ticket that says I put down 5.00 on it. If I put down 5.00 on this, and the price goes up, I have no proof that it was 19.99 when I preordered it?

I think they will just wait till they ship and charge you the extra $10. I paid with a gift card so I don't know what will happen. If they try and charge me for it the money won't be on the card, if they try to cancel how will I get the money if I don't have the GC?

With the DK with Bongos thing, though, they kept the low price but did a sneaky thing and switched orders over to DK without Bongos, IIRC? Wasn't exactly honoring a price...they switched items and you had to contact them and prove the error to get the proper (more expensive list price) product.

I know they honored the Def Jam: FFNY error, so there is a precedent:

However, this is a new EBgames, one who bails out of rebates/vouchers, so they could cancel.

Also, consumers have nothing to lose on this if they get up-charged, as they can always dispute the charges.
