DMC2 is supposed to be a greatest hits title, it should be 19.99 everywhere.

I might actually pick it up for $20. If you check gamerankings and gametab, on average the game gets around 80%, not bad - only slightly less than say, Metal Arms.

Haven't you been here long enough to know that just because a game is available for a low price, does not mean it sucks. The Xbox version got 81 average score at metacritic, btw, not too shabby (85% ign, 82% gamespot. Those are the ones I check).

X play really liked it except the main character has no personality

It doesnt suck really, but the load times are brutal and the save feature and progress checkpoints are ludicrous, you mess up, you need to totally redo an entire area, and cant even skip the lengthy cutscenes. Granted it all looks fantastic, but redoing the same 15 minutes of work for the fourth time, cause you missed a jump, really tries your patience. [-o<

And haven't you been around long enough to know that just because a game gets decent reviews does not mean it is good! Door swings both ways. Lot of good cheap games and a few horrible but weel reviewed ones.

I don't think I indicated that just because it got decent reviews that it is a good game. In fact, I am sure I didn't. I didn't even imply it, although I can see how one might infer it from my post. I haven't received my copy yet, so I am reserving judgement. Of course, I can not judge the game for either you or bmulligan, I was merely stating that one cannot (should not) judge a game to be of poor quality just because it has a low price.
As long as we are being petty, haven't you been here long enough to have made more than 9 posts?
Sphinx is actually a really good game. I picked up a copy at my local KB when they closed for 5 bucks. Like some others have said, the main character could use some personality but the game itself is solid, especially is you like your platfomers with puzzles.
I don't know if I would have paid 50 bucks for it but for 20 bucks it is definately worth it.

Nope, it's a very good game. It just seems that this is not the year of the "action platformer", with Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil and now Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy ALL selling badly, despite all being extremely high quality titles.
No blood and graphic killing in them though, I guess that's what sells games these days....

My good friend can't say enough good things about Sphinx. It's an awesome deal for $20, and he thought it was a great deal at full price.
