well if u dont like xbox what about 360 if u got money to burn, saturn has a nice library, gamecube is cheap and has a decent library. I'd look at some of cube games and see if they strike your fancy

Agree'd. You can get one for $20 or less easily and there are a bunch of good games on it.

Xbox. I don't care if you think you like it or not, you don't know what you like, I do.
Just kidding, Gamecube is a great choice IMO, although I really do like the Xbox.

xbox, even if you don't like it the RPG choices are better than the GC and cheaper than games for a saturn.
If you don't have a snes or gba I'd also take a look at those, lots of stellar RPGs and most of them dont' cost too much.

Have you seen the Halo Xbox, looks awesome. That's the one I have and it looks way better than my ps2 or cube. Whenever I see a black xbox I cringe.
I love my saturn and it has great RPGs and shooters but if you didnt already buy the games ur gonna pay a crap load to play alot of the great games. You can get a 360 for the price of a saturn, panzer dragoon saga, and radiant silvergun. You just need an action replay to play american/japense games though.

yea i was talking about raidiant silvergun which that goes up around 100-200.

I know that you can play japanese games on an american saturn with a game shark, but I don't know if it will work on a japanese saturn.

You should be able to buy a mod pack that fits into the external memory socket, although a US saturn is pretty damn cheap (maybe even cheaper than the mod pack).
If you can read Japanese just pick up the Japanese Saturn almost all of the games are cheaper. For example I've seen Jap. Dragon Forces go fro less than $20 complete while I've seen US disk only copies go for more than that.

Xbox. I don't care if you think you like it or not, you don't know what you like, I do.
I concur, and I'm not kidding. You're missing out if you don't have all the consoles.

im not rich enough too :)
i said japanese saturn because i saw alot of good games like raidiant silvergun and etc that was imported.
well if i get a us saturn i need a mod , and where do i get one?
after this sleep time.
i will be back tomo to check this!
thanks.
just one thing, US saturn games like, shining force 3, panzer dragoon saga, magic knight ray earth, Dragon Force, the other shining games are all kind of rare and will cost you a lot.
The Japanese Saturn games you might like are raidiant silvergun, Shining Force 3 part 2+3 and Dragon Force 2.
On the other hand with gamecube you can pick up ikaruga, Zelda, Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Acadia, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, paper mario, evolution world all for a reasonable price.

Most of which suck.
Don't get tricked by the fanboys, quality over quantity.

If you want shooters, Dreamcast is THE console. It's also got a few decent RPGs in Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue (if you can consider it that), Evolution, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Dreamcast they fucking pwn. Plus you can always play imported and homebrew *cough* games without a modchip ;)

I'm gonna say Dreamcast too... it's not some good stuff, and it's not gonna cost you an arm and a leg- unless you think you want to play VMU games. Damn quick-dying button batteries...

A Saturn would be a fun toy . . . but not a serious game everyday kind of purchase in my book.
I think the Dreamcast is very overrated . . . I got one from EB for $20 but returned it when I realized that I would never really join the cult. If you don't already have one . . . just stay away. With no personal nostalgia, the compromised graphics of the DC killed it for me.
Personally, I'd say get a Gamecube . . . you can find some nice bundles on ebay for under $150 shipped . . . it really has been an underrated system. Just to play the Pikmin and Rogue Squadron games alone.
I found these for another thread a few weeks ago:

4 wavebirds! $132 shipped!

wow, Rogue Squad, View Joe, Double Dash is great multiplayer, and SSBros to boot!

The Gamecube is a great deal right now.
Otherwise you should break down and drift over to the dark side . . . I finally got an Xbox in spring 2004 (free after filling out 20 offers at freevideogames.com) and I've grown to love the system. Either way, there are plenty of good used games for the X and GC these days . . . I wouldn't go for the 360 because games won't be cheap for over a year.

Genesis and Dreamcast. Both are dirt cheap and have some awesome games.
I'm just getting into the DC scene myself (yeah, I'm your competition. Hi. :) ) and I say go for Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, Evolution, Giga Wing, and anything else that you think you'd like for that console.
As for the Genesis, there are some awesome shooters. Arrow Flash, Thunder Force, Gaiares, Gunstar Heroes... as for the RPGs, find Shining Force II if you can get it from someone who isn't a total bastard looking to put fellow gamers in the poorhouse. Same deal with Phantasy Star IV. Also get a Power Base Converter and the original Phantasy Star, again, at the risk of going broke. Landstalker is another good'un and I THINK it's less expensive than Shining Force II.
Just a few recommendations from a Genesis fan of 10 years and an obvious Dreamcast virgin.
Game on.
