I agree. I have yet to see any that I would want to buy. However I think places like gameconsoleskins.com and gamerskinz might come out with some nice ones. Also people like pelican and madcatz will come out with some as soon as M$ lets them. I can see collector edition of games coming with a faceplate for $69.99.

0. For one thing, I like the white already. Also, I think it's a huge waste of money, it's not going to change the gaming experience at all, and I could care less about showing off my Xbox 360 faceplate to anyone.

The only way I'd get one is if I could make my own custom faceplate, or get one with my new in big bold letter because I rock so damn much.

I'm sure there's going to be "super rare limited edition" faceplates that everyone's going to have to have.

My guess is that these faceplates will be preorder bonuses because they wont sell well on their own. I know i would definitely go to a specific store to preorder if that store offered exclusive Halo 3/ KOTOR 3/ Forza 2/ GTA/ Quake/ whatever game it is faceplates.

That does look pretty good. But the rest of the console won't match up, so what's the point?

Probably 0. I would rather use that $20 towards an extra controller. However, if they have some amazing one, I will buy one. If the faceplate was really a cover for the whole system, I would buy one on launch day.

i might get one so my girlfriend can paint something on it.. i'd rather have an original face plate then ones they sell in stores.. preorder bonuses would be cool.. i'd like a lightsaber duel on it.. that'd be neat.. but I probably won't look to get a hundred of them.. if i did.. maybe 2-3.

If it came with Halo 3 LE, I'd get it, I guess. I wouldn't explicitly pay money for a new faceplate, though - I'm going to want a nice row of sleek silver and white boxes in the next generation

Those faceplates are lame... they only cover the face of the console, which leaves the rest of the thing looking plain. But then again, you rarely see anything except for the face on a console.

Either way, if I did get a 360 I wouldn't bother with faceplates. They all look dumb.

Who would care about the face plate . . . I guess it is the kind of thing that people will focus on during the initial shortage of games (esp. cheap ones).

I'm not getting a 360 until I see how the PS3 comes into market . . . even then, I think I'm going to wait at least a year (into 2007) and enjoy the cheap prices on current gen games and try to play through some of my back catalog as well. Which system will I buy? I don't know yet.

Face plates are perfect for the folks who get the system at launch . . . if you have the dough to waste on a new system with a few overpriced "good" games to play on it, then blowing extra money on its appearance is for you.

Ill probably get one in a few years. By that time, there will hopefully be some good games out for it that make it worth buying as well as a few price drops.
