Okay, today I bought a "new" Killer 7 from EB and I used cash and a gift voucher to pay for it. Later on, I went to another EB to exchange it for a real new copy since it was on the way. The employee (nice person) said yeah he can exchange my "new" copy for a sealed one. After a while, he said for some reason he can't find it. I asked then if I can get a refund on the game and he said yes.

The problem now is, he said for some reason he can only refund me 16.66 (should be 29.99). He said it's the gift voucher. I asked him if there's some way to give me the full refund but he said no (in a puzzled way since he's as confused as I am). He can exchange the game but just can't give me a full refund. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm just going to another EB tomorrow (also on the way strangely) to exchange it if they have a sealed copy.

I've noticed that they tabulate the gift voucher as a coupon . . . its not fair but I think you'd just be out the value on the purchase.

I try to be very careful with my voucher purchases for this reason . . . I wouldn't have taken the open "new" one in the first place.

Well I guess I learned something. I called the other EB and I'm exchanging it there tomorrow. It wouldn't have been a total loss though, if there was no place to exchange for a sealed one, I would have kept it as I was planning on playing it anyway.

You can't get a refund on the total price of the game because you didn't pay the total price of the game. You used a gift voucher, which isn't money. It is a coupon. You would lose the amount of the voucher.

Just keep it, what differance does it make?

As a basic point, i understand what he's getting at . . . I basically understand the desire to avoid these "new" opened . . . I refuse them nearly universally.

No refunds on vouchers or coupon codes.
