Wow, that is a SHMUP overload. Can you recommend any particular ones you like? I'm really enjoying Warning Forever right now but I don't have the free time to try out all of them. SHMUPs are my favorite type of games right after SRPGs.

I'll post some impressions as I make my way through these games. I don't have much free time so if any other CAGs wants to help too, feel free to jump in. Maybe we can compile a list of the best ones eventually.
Warning Forever: I love this game. This is a neverending series of boss battles that last forever. The battles take place on a single screen. I believe an algorithm is used to generate the bosses. They just get bigger and bigger until eventually they fill the entire screen. You can also affect the design of successive bosses by which parts you destroy.
Wire Robo: Interesting game mechanics. You don't move your ship in a traditional way but rather with a grappling hook which you use to swing from passing objects. It takes a little while to learn how to control momentum and trajectory but its all very intuitive. The game does get repetitive and boring after a while though. It might be worth checking out for something different but it gets old rather quickly.
I just downloaded Warning Forever and gave it a shot before I have to leave for work, and it is a really excellent game. While I didn't care too much for the last boss heavy shmup that I played (re: Chaos Field), this game is suprisingly good. I really like how you can use the targeting laser to shoot in any direction if the boss decides to move around on you. Reminds me a bit of Psikyo's Zero Gunner series which was a ton of fun to play.
It's a really small download too, so everyone should check it out.

As a SHMUP fan, I have to recommend
Shikigami No Shiro 2 (Castle Shikigami 2 in the USA)
It's just the demo on the site, but I recently bought Castle Shikigami 2 for the PS2 (@ ebgames for $8!) and it's pretty fun. The latter stages all have hectic gunfire and the game rewards "close calls" with gunfire and enemies by increasing the range and power of your shot! Beware of Engrish in the US ps2 version though. Although I find it funny.
A new copy of this runs for $10. Buy it!
