Has anyone ever seen a Factory Sealed "River City Ransom" For NES 8-Bit on EBay? If so how much do you remember the auction being at when you saw it or how much did you see it at completed? I wanna get an idea of what I should set the reserve at. I have yet to see one on EBay and I have been checking each day for the last month which leads me to believe I should get more than the Legend of Zelda Factory Sealed that I'm going to put up in the next 2-3 days and that'll get an easy $300+!

Appreciate your input! :)

usually what you do is 200% to 400% more than collector's list price if it's sealed.

so the game is worth $9 bucks according to my guide. so somewhere between $18-36.

I saw a Zelda go for over $400 a few weeks ago, but then one didn't sell for just $200 shipped last week. It's hit or miss with sealed NES games I guess.

If you have the balls just put it at a penny and see what happens. Might get a crazy amount, might just get $100 or so.

(Is your Zelda the Classic Series or the original box?)

ha, well its worth $18-36 to colelctors. i wouldnt pay over 2 bucks nes games unless they are sealed or an awesome game(like crystalis). but yeah i hear about alot of sealed games either doing really good or really bad. I'm sure river city would do good though. i'm guessing at least 30-50.

Classic Series with the red border on top with the original stamp to the right hand side of the box.

Yeah that's the one that didn't sell for $200. I imagine the one that I saw that went for over $400 was probably the original box. (It's not part of completed auction searches any longer so I'm not sure.)

$0.01 starting bid with no reserve should generate a lot of watchers, but it's a gamble for sure.

Who are these people paying these ridiculous prices for games you could get for $1 or less? Who gives a shit if it is sealed? You can't even play it - I guess you could sit it on a table and stare at it - hours of fun!

Good luck selling them - I hope you get some sucker to pay top dollar!

Personally, I always start my auctions at $0.01. It generates more interest and has lower insertion fees. I think if people start a bidding war at a lower price they tend to want the item more and get locked in to the bidding war instead of looking at simliar auctions. It becomes more about winning that auction than finding an awesome deal.

Then again, that could all be in my head. ;)

Yeah I don't see why people care if its sealed or not.. I can see paying more for a complete one but not paying 4x or more just because its got some plastic on it.

I don't know who they are, but God bless them. :)

With all of the people re-sealing NES games these days, I can't believe ANYBODY is paying good money for them. There's a sucker born every minute. At least with the later generations of games you have security stickers, the older games are so easily faked.

If you're buying a sealed NES game it's gotta be for a personal collection. I'm sure it's not to be played.

I have a sealed E.T. for the 2600 on my desk. Nothing wrong with that.

Does it have a "CLEARANCE - $0.25" sticker on it? That'd make it perfect IMO.

Unless you can find a way to do Nintendo's signature T for a factory sealed game it would be very hard to be suckered past a true factory sealed NES game.

The classic series zelda sealed goes for around $100 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8207457222&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
the original gold is where you get $300 to $400 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8207024524&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

River city Ransom sealed you'd probably get around $70 for.
