I think this is good news because Taito doesnt have a US publisher, and it means we are more likely to get games like Langrisser.

SCEA won't approve anything like Langrisser... They rejected it when Working Designs wanted to bring Langrisser 1-5 in one package for PS1. Just found out today that they also rejected Policenauts for PS1. They also rejected Ys 1+2, and Taito publishes Ys now.

Maybe MS can give them a few bags of money to bring them to Xbox since Sony won't give them the "privilege" to bring it here. Or maybe they can go to Nintendo like Tales of Symphonia.

yay! this is good news! I love the magic pengel/graffiti kingdom series that Taito has been producing for the past fewe years, and this is a great and perfect mix for both companies.

I go into it further in the Samurai Showdown V thread.

But, basically because they're 2d or niche games.

Because Sony pisses on games that don't showcase the system (graphically). Any 2d fighter gets passed on. The only reason why KOF came out was because it was a
'value bundle' and had 2 games for the price of one.

I wish it would! We need more shooters!

well it is one thing for SCEA to reject Working Designs, but Square got hits like Final Fantasy and Star Ocean. Like Konami and Capcom, Square should have better luck, plus they can afford to release games at a discount price, which SCEA seems to like for 2d games. I could see Square have better luck releasing some Taito classics for cheap here in the US.

whats the point of trying to show off the ps2s graphics when youve got 3 systems have already have it beat.

There are plenty of PS2 titles that are graphically impressive. There are plenty of Xbox games that look like ass.

I thought NIS already proved 2d niche = instant win. (disgaea, phantombrave, etc)
