I've started this thread (rather than hijack the disscussion thread) to see some fighting game goodies I know y'all have. Post your stuff!

I'll begin:
http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/8559/sticks1nl.jpg

Recently picked up the Ultimate Fighting Stick...and it kicks ass, wirelessly!

http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/663/games1ge.jpg

I'd love to add a Last Bronx to that back row.

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/48/guides4bs.jpg

Essential training tools. The Anniversary Collection almost trumps the Alpha 2 guide. Almost.

Let's see what you've got!

It's the Naki Ultimate Fighting Stick. It's wireless, and compatible with PS2 and Xbox . The receiver has a port for the XBL Communicator so you can get your talk on. Those two nubs are self-centering (!!!) trackballs in case you need to use the analog sticks for any purpose. Katamari Damacy becomes a whole new game with those.
The stick is very clicky, and the buttons are pretty resilient. I highly recommend it.
As VGM posted, you can get 'em at Gamestop.

Oh fighters. The genre I absolutely love to death, but that I suck at so horribly.

My collection is fairly weak:
http://www4.ncsu.edu/~bmsabol/fighterstuff.jpg

I was eager to get a stick last year and this was the first one I found, and having little knowledge on them I went with it. Using it now, I think i'd much rather use a "gumball" stick as opposed to that one, but I haven't found a good one out there that isn't more than i'm willing to spend.

As you can see I don't buy too many fighting games as it stands. I was excited to get Xbox Live, thinking "Hey I can play CvS 2 online with people all over the place. What a kick-ass idea," only to find that hardly anyone plays online and the people that do are EO abusing morons. Having no suitable arcade in the area, and since most of the guys I used to play with aren't around anymore, my interest in the genre just faded away.

wow... that ultimate stick is amazing! I will probably order one of those babys... any other input about it? I clicked the gamestop link thinking that it would be going for $99.99... and it's $40! jeeze, nice price for (what seems to be) a great stick! any cheaper prices? if not... i'll still get it if people think it's worth it. I've been shopping around for a stick to start training on, and so far the only other stick that I have considered is the tekken 5 stick.

one other question: how is the battery life (if any at all)? and what size batterys does it take?

Sega Saturn Twin Stick with a Virtua Fighter Kids instruction card?! AWESOME!!!

one other question: how is the battery life (if any at all)? and what size batterys does it take?

Three AAA's. I've had it for three weeks now and haven't replaced the batteries. I haven't been playing too much in the last week, so I can't really speak for the battery life. I prefer it to the Tekken 5 stick, the buttons are more resistent and it feels sturdier. Just my preference, though. I'd encourage you to try both.

And keeping with the theme, I've dug out another batch:
http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/1773/mkii9cf.jpg

Mortal Kombat II ruled our lives in college. We had a dry erase board with ALL of the moves written on it, hung under the TV for easy access. Wake up, MK II. Back from class, MK II. Fire alarm at 3:30 a.m. during finals week that causes you to stand outside in the frigid tundra, thereby erasing the need for sleep...yup, MK II. We played on the Genny, but the 32X version takes the cake.

Here's most of my fighting game collection:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v132/Socheata/fightcag001.jpg
Seen here are my two Agetec DC Arcade Sticks, two Namco Arcade Sticks, two Nuby Street Fighter Anniversary controllers and my Kasumi Love Pillow. <3

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v132/Socheata/fightcag002.jpg
I also have a few other fighting games that I didn't take pics of. Such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, the DBZ Budokai games, Gundam Battle Assault series, etc. I also have various cart-only fighting games that includes SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millennium for the NGPC, Mortal Kombat and Battle Arena Toshinden for the GB... I'm too lazy to pull them out of the boxes that they're in now.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v132/Socheata/fightcag003.jpg
My DC stuff. I still need to get my hands on Project Justice (eBay prices are absurd), the original Marvel vs Capcom and Power Stone 2 (I have the first Power Stone but didn't bother including it in this pic). To the right are my Evolution 2002, 2003 and 2004 DVD sets.

Fabulous! What's different in DOA 3.1?

I can not believe I forgot these:
**********

Best...handheld...fighting...EVER!!!

basically, the U.S. version was rushed to meet launch and is like 2.5.

3.1 has about 50 more moves throughout the characters, they loosened up hit tracking so that the sidestep is worth a damn, changed a ton of hit properties, balanced the characters better and added new tag throw animations. Also, all those costumes in the booster pack are in the game.

So if you ever hear someone say that the booster pack updates the U.S. version to the Japanese version, kick em in the nards.

Bonus fact: the PAL version is considered 3.2-- the only difference from 3.1 is that Hayate's cartwheel, an almost completely broken move, has been fixed.

Those neo pocket games look fun. those systems and games are pretty cheap, aren't they?

Darkside Hazuki

those systems and games are pretty cheap, aren't they?

NCSX has 'em in stock for $39.00. Linky (http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/NEOP52010.html).

Capcom Fighting Evo. and SVC Chaos had guides? Where the hell was I? NICE PILLOW!

I'd love to throw up some pictures of my SF Controllers for XBox, but they both crapped out on me. Played once each, put 'em away, plugged 'em back in, nothing. I have a friend who had the same problem with two others. Anyone else have some that still work?

Anyone out there have Eternal Champions? My wife and I used to play that to death.
I'll own the Sega CD version of that some day.

is the SF: anniversary collection guide helpful on advance techniques?

If I may suggest an alternative, you should download this video:

http://www.combovideos.com/page.php?id=118 (99MB download)

I don't know if you have to register on the site to download the video (I believe some files require that you register first). But that video will show you the "basics" (read: advanced) techniques in SFIII:3S. It covers super cancelling, negative edge, cancels/links and kara-throwing.

Extremely helpful. There's even a glossary if you haven't the faintest idea what a kara-cancel or a red parry is.

Thanks guys.

I got lucky a few years ago and found EC: CD at the flea market. They don't get much in the way of Sega CD stuff anymore but I'll keep an eye out.

Fighters Megamix is hard to play on the Game.com. The motion is too blurry to do much (think 1st generation Gameboy blurry). Still its a decent conversation piece.

Ooo... I'm loving this thread.

I'm a huge collector on arcade sticks... Whether they be Hori, ASCII, Agetec, MAS, Sanwa, Seimitsu, etc... I have tons... maybe 30 or so... I'll take pictures of the ones I have with me at the moment in a bit. Gonna take awhile to unpack them all...

To those of you that purchased the Tekken 5 Strat Guide from BradyGames, what did you think of it? Feedback would be appreciated(I helped write the guide).

I'd toss up a pic of my Super Puzzle Fighter II X import, but alas, my wife has taken the camera to the Cubs game.

If this were a tournament, MarkMan would win. Can't wait for pictures of the joysticks!
How's SFA 2 on the SNES?

SFA 2 on the SNES is actually pretty good considering it's on SNES. I do prefer the Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold that came with SF Collection 2 however.

About to upload pics of my joysticks...

I was way too lazy to take pics of all my other fighting game stuff, so it's just gonna be some of my sticks...

Well, here is my joystick collection... it's not all of it. A friend of mine has one of my Namco sticks, another friend has one of my Tekken 3 Hori Real Arcade Sticks... and there are a few sticks that didn't make the cut(stuck under my bed) lol...

Here's my collection, hope you enjoy the pictures...(It was hot as hell in San Diego today and carrying around boxes and boxes of sticks throughout my house was tiring lol)...

Ahh, took awhile to get stuff out of their boxes... from upper left, going L-R... Hori Real Arcade Pro, Custom Korean Arcade Stick(used for Tekken), Custom Red Octane Fighting Stick(with Happ stick/buttons), NubyTech Street Fighter Anniversary Arcade Stick, 2 x MAS Sticks, 2 x Pelican Real Arcade Sticks...

Yes sir! I love fighting games all around. I have a lot of Street Fighter and some SNK stuff...

Do any of you read the SF Comic by Udon? I love that series...

Hori, is one of my favorite companies as well. Now that they actually have US offices, more and more of their stuff is coming over... expect to see more Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Clocks, Dragon Quest VIII Slime Controllers, and more Hori arcade sticks in the future.

I got to talk to Ray(US Hori rep) a few times... and he really does like to listen to fighting game fans on what they want to see over here... I hope they bring the Hori Real Arcade Pro Special Edition/Addition... those were some hot sticks...

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I appreciate it. I'm just another fighting game fan, keepin it true to a hobby I love. I really enjoy competitive fighting games, so that's probably why you don't see some of the less popular games in my collection... I usually just get what's played in tournament etc...

I do have Project Justice somewhere, it's hard to keep track of all my games when they're all over the place in my house. I also have Japanese Rival Schools for PS1, both of em... They're somewhere along with my Saturn imports... -_-

I'll do some searching tomorrow.

Did anyone get the hardcover SF 15th anniversary book by Udon... that book is the shit!

What's up assassinX... most of those sticks were AT LEAST over $50 when i bought them at the time...

A good PS2 stick for $20 or $30? I don't really know any around that price range... off of ebay you might be able to get the Tekken 5 Hori stick... it's a good stick for how much it's worth... but I don't think you'd find a decent stick for around $20 or $30 unless you find a steal of an auction...

$45 isn't too bad, but paying 80 for the stick alone when you can get the game, collector's case, AND the stick for 20 bucks more at EB is asinine.

It's better to just get the bundle. Besides, 50 bucks for a Hori is a steal.

When O look at a lot of those collections on digitpress, I just think "Wow, nice game collection. Too bad your TV is a POS." I mean, c'mon. Is it really that hard to replace your old-ass 15" TV with a new Sony WEGA?

EX: http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/Arthur-Cruz-Collection/P1010061

EDIT: And I'd love to have a collection like the ones those guys have, but I honestly could never go back and play the games after playing them with emulators: They look better (most of the old systems don't have s-video, some not even composite), I can state-save (which is the greatest thing EVER), I never have to worry about a cartridge or CD getting messed up, I can play translated versions of Japanese-only games, and I only need to hook up one system to play them (right now Dreamcast, but I'll be moving to the Xbox once I get one).

And god dammit, when is somebody gonna make a Saturn emulator?

This what he said:

It's the Naki Ultimate Fighting Stick. It's wireless, and compatible with PS2 and Xbox . The receiver has a port for the XBL Communicator so you can get your talk on. Those two nubs are self-centering (!!!) trackballs in case you need to use the analog sticks for any purpose. Katamari Damacy becomes a whole new game with those.
The stick is very clicky, and the buttons are pretty resilient. I highly recommend it.
As VGM posted, you can get 'em at Gamestop.

I have absolutely no trouble performing any moves with the Naki stick.
I like the click so I can hear when I've hit the direction.
The buttons provide less shock to my hands than the T5 stick (just one example).
Different strokes for different folks.

Hit up a Gamestop and ask them to pop one out for you. Couldn't hurt...

VGM: If you can find a DC>PS1/PS2 convertor, by all means let me know.

Also regarding the Saulabi imitation stick, aka the Naki. I personally don't like wireless controllers for fighting games. But then again I follow frame data learn frame traps... If it wasn't wireless I'm sure it'd be more appealing to the high level competition player.

The stick itself being clicky is not a problem, in fact all joysticks click unless they are flash/360 Happs...

anyone know if the naki stick (which I have to say has high sex appeal for those two rollerballs) is cheaper than $40. $40 is a great price, but was wondering if it was any cheaper... plus, how long is the battery life and what type of batteries does it use?

You should have bought it on Saturn
only time it really starts to slow down is on Turbo 3 in SSF2X when two of the larger fighters do supers.

I've been looking around, the Gamestop is the only place I can find that has it. I couldn't even find one on eBay...

Yeah, I was actually looking for a different one I saw that had something like $40 or $50 in shipping cost listed, but I couldn't find that one.

Since I last posted pictures.... I have a LOT MORE fighting game stuff in my collection... added a machine, more joysticks, way more games..

Plan on getting a Japanese style cabinet soon too. I'll update when I get that.

And I still need to unpack my Street Fighter collection. :)

How is that Blaze peripheral, anyway? I bought one of their arcade-style controllers way back when during a massive EB clearance of Blaze stuff but I found that, for the small periph I bought, the buttons were just far too loose for even moderate shooter play, let alone fighters.

Just wondering since this is the first time I've ever seen a Blaze peripheral along those lines and it's highly intriguing!

Nice collection there Striker. When I'm not feeling lazy I'll take a pic of all the fighting games in my collection.

The Blaze arcade controller is actually decent. The only thing i don't like about it is the cheap(plastic-like) buttons and the clicking joystick. I dunno if arcade controllers are supposed to click like that (since that's the only arcade stick i have). But i'm assuming that a better company's arcade controllers (ie. Hori) won't do that. Although i've never owned or seen a Hori stick in person, is there anyone here who has and can give me feedback on it? I'm actually considering one. Either that, or the SF Anniversary Stick. Thanks.

I finally got my hands on a camera and took inventory today.

Might as well post the rest:

Not Pictured: PC, PSX, DS, GBA, NES, SNES games.

PC GAMES, and South Park DVDs:

The TV setup I play on most of the time. I do have a 42" Grand Wega outside if I ever need HD (which, having no 360, i don't).
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2135/tvsetup3bq.jpg

And finally...how could I forget...CRAPPY GAMES:
http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/3747/crappygames9gw.jpg

Never payed more than $2 for any of those, and no I didn't 'seriously' buy any of those. Whenever I have a few bucks change left over from dinner or something and I pass an EB, I buy at least one crappy game.
NOT PICTURED: 1Xtreme, 2Xtreme, some other crappy Action RPG I can't remember the name of.

ONE isn't too crappy, but yeah, its crappy.

Nice collection though. If I get my hands on a good camera very soon I'll post my minority of a collection.
