I just need some quick advice from my fellow CAGs. I have a bunch (20-30) various PS2, GCN, XBOX games that I want to trade in for credit toward a Xbox360. From your experiences, should I go now and get the measley $2-3 a game that they are offering or wait for some trade-in bonus deal for the system? We have an EB, GS and Rhino local. Thanks in advance for any help.

are the majority of them sports titles?

Are they POX titles? If so then it won't matter when you trade them in unless EB does some sort of sick promotion where they don't care what you trade in.

The majority of titles are not POX or sports, just older and not worth a lot.

I'm not sure if you could do this but do the Nascar trade or Zelda trade then convert to store credit( If you want cash, buy some new games then resell the new games)

I thought about that too. But I am sure I can't order 3 of each title to do that. One other idea I had was to go to Blockbuster and see if they accept trades (I know they did at one time). I may not get a lot of credit, but I can use that credit to purchase better games with the buy 2 get 1 free sale, then go to Rhino and trade in using their 2 for 1 and get credit (after taking the game back). Thoughts?

Why not list them here, you'd get more money for them fo' sho'.

On the Aug 28th EB is starting a promotion which was posted elsewhere, but I did clarify it at my local EB. POX titles excluded of course. Every 3 games you trade in you get a bonus $3 per game, every 4 - extra $4 per game, and every 5 get an extra $5 per game. I am doing this exact thing once it hits the 28th, got about 30 games to trade so thats $150 just bonus credit =). Not sure on a transaction limit though.

Wow, that sounds great. Thanks a lot. I can definitely wait for that.

Definitely wait for a trade-in special instead of just handing your games over for whatever some store will give you at the moment. The experience of getting raped on your trade-in by a retail store is never worth the convenience factor it may offer.

Also, you might want to reconsider whether any new console is really worth paying a premium price to own at launch. Sure Xbox had Halo, but 360 might not have any stellar games at launch. (PS2 sure didn't.)

I am sure it has to send somewhere if the bonus is per game.

Ends at $5 from what I was told.

They did it last year around this time, except it was bonus $10 for every 3 games.
Not sure what exactly you mean by send it somewhere, but it is B&M because it was in their promotions for september.

Very true, but my wife supports my addiction and always makes sure that I have the latest systems. Even when I was deployed to Iraq I got a DS in the mail and a PSP for our anniversary. So I am just trying to help buffer the cost because I do not plan on paying 100% out of pocket.

Is this just towards a 360?

 My wife is the polar opposite of yours. I get no support whatsoever for any of my habits.

Sorry, kinda lost this thread in the forums. Credit is for anything not just a 360, just so happens thats what im using it for. Its the September promotion so i'm guessin it ends 28th of sept, or right around there since its supposed to start aug 28th.

Take 'em to Rhino. If they don't offer a lot, say "thanks for checking" and leave. You can check the value and not trade them in.
