I just won a bid for a Lexar Mp3 Player (total comes to roughly $50 bucks with shipping).

After winning, I recieved an e-mail, saying that I could have a SquareTrade Warranty Service for 3 years for the price of $6.99.

Thats not bad, for 3 years. According to them, Squaretrade will replace it if it breaks or at least issue a check up to the original price of the item.

While I occasionally buy extended warranty, I only done so in stores. I haven't tried it online and haven't even heard of Squaretrade. Did anybody have any good/bad experience with SquareTrade Warranty services?

I question whether or not Squaretrade will be around in 3 years. Alot of third party warranty companies pop up sell lots of cheap warranties and then the companies disappear after a couple years once they actually start getting alot of claims on items. This is particularly bad in the automotive warranty industry. I don't know anything about Squaretrade specifically of course, they might be a great company, but they do appear rather new to the warranty business.

I suppose so, but Ebay seems to endorse it.

Ebay also endorses Paypal - but I heard they don't have very good customer service. Wonder if its the same for SquareTrade Warranty?

Ah its only 7 bucks.
