I was debating whether to get this or not.

I guess you HAVE to update firmware to 1.52 to play this game (but I guess there is a programs to "trick" your PSP into thinking it's 1.52)

I just can't justify $40 for a best of collection. If it was $20 then I would own it already.

It's all old games, there are a lot of good new games out in many different genres.

I've had the jap version for about a month (1.5 ;) ). It was really fun while it lasted. I beat the new Dig Dug in less than 2 hours though. Same with the new pac man. The games are pretty fun themselves, but the older games just don't hold up. The original pac man looks awful on the PSP screen when played in anything but it's original aspect mode.

Are these the actual games (ala Mame) or ports (ala every crappy compilation that's come before this one)?

They are emulations, and the US version has 10 more games.

Yeah, $40 is too mcuh for me also....I have a $5 BB RZ coupon and the $5 PSP coupon for BB, so $30 seems a little better, but I still may wait. I have 1.50 still :)

this thing should have been priced at $20. No way in hell for $40. Sega Tennis rescue me. I wanna buy something...anything but UMDs for the PSP...please.

I hear you. The way Sony has treated the PSP this summer, you'd think they'd given up on the system and left it for dead already. Only two game releases since June (Coded Arms and Death Jr.), and both of those were rentals at best.

Nothing wrong with Namco Museum, except I ain't paying $40 for it. And what's next on the schedule? Oh, it's Gretzky '06. Excuse my yawning. Is Sony even trying at this point?

I had hopes for Medievil Resurrection, but early reviews are not hopeful. Looks like another rental.

Note to Sony. Releasing UMD movies does not count as supporting the system. If I wanted a portable movie player, I could buy a portable DVD player for MUCH cheaper with a FAR larger screen. And it would play the same DVDs I watch at home, which generally cost less than UMD movies.

I tell you, I own two PSPs and thankfully they're both 1.5s. If not for homebrew and emus, I'd be having major buyer remorse right now. Fortunately, I LOVE the homebrew scene, so I LOVE the PSP. But if I were solely dependent on Sony's pathetic game support, I'd be strongly considering ditching the system by now.

I stare at the damn thing daily, saying GS will give me $175 for it...I originally had 1.5 but like an @$$ I updated before I knew of the emulation scene

I dunno, I solved my PSP-drought by buying a DS.

I mean its not like I'm breaking up with my PSP, we're just taking some time off right now...

Yeah the homebrew stuff is keeping me playing my PSP. The game "Squarez" is awesome!

Yeah, I think I may pass on this....I cannot fathom spending $40 on a greatest hits package. I can get it for $30, which makes it tempting....but then I take a step back and realize the only reason this is tempting is becuase it's the ONLY new game that game out (besides Death Jr, which was average)

I wanted to buy this, but I think I can wait till it comes down to around $20 before I think about it.

I like old games like the one on this compilation so I bought it and love it! I play Mappy the most! Sounds gay huh?

it really is a great compilation. The fact that you can play the games fully rotated on the PSP screen was enough for me to purchase it. The remixed versions of Pacman, Rally-X, Galaxian and Dig Dug were cool bonuses.

I have and play MAME, but love the fact that I can bring 17 of my favorite arcade games with me while on the go.

You can read my review of the game here PGRevolution Namco Museum Review (http://pgrevolution.com/2005/08/30/namco-museum-battle-collection-review/)

Well, I rented the game today...I didn't want to upgrade my PSP so I used the WAB version changer. I tricked my PSP into thinking it's a 1.52 now :) neat....Namco works great and so does everything else. Pretty neat trick. If anyone is interested PM or google it. (I don't think it's illegal, right?)

Really? I've been playing with Doom (with different WAD files, feels so great when you have maxed out chain gun while facing a horde of hellish creatures in quake2 <it's quake 2 using doom engine- Good nonetheless)

Almost bought this... then I realized the console versions are only $20 bucks, and I'm not going to pay $40 just for the novelty of having it be "portable".

Namco would have cleaned up with a $20 dollar MSRP, no doubt.... I know I would have picked one up without thinking twice.

Umm, my wife bought this and has not prevented me from playing my "classic" games. Darn it. Waiting for the the new hack....

Portable Bosconian at long last is very tempting. Though I can hold out for a $20 price.
