I'll start.

1) Parker Lewis Can't Lose.

http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/49/parker0hk.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

What's up with that? I can't even find it on reruns anywhere. I remember the show being very funny- yes, it was a Ferris Bueller TV ripoff, but I think it came into it's own.

It probably wouldn't hold up after all these years- nothing ever seems to be as good as you remember it years later, but I'd buy it on DVD.

Next?

Small Wonder

She's a small wonder, pretty and bright with soft curls.
She's a small wonder, a girl unlike other girls.
She's a miracle, and I grant you
She'll enchant you with her sight
She's a small wonder, and she'll make your heart beat twice
She's fantastic, made of plastic,
Microchips here and there.
She's a small wonder, brings love and laughter everywhere.

Actually, I kid... I did watch the show as a kid but would never buy it on DVD....

Jack of All Trades w/ Bruce Campbell? I'm not sure how funny they would be to watch again, but I really liked watching it back when I worked the late night shift...... and all the episodes should fit into one box set.....

Third Watch, great show

Yes, I agree. I found this show in reruns. Unfortunately, I read due to all the licensed music aired on the TV show, the DVD release is unlikely because of licensing fees. Either that or they would have to put in sound-alike songs.

It would be nice if they could straighten it all out with the original music. They did with Miami Vice, and that has tons of licensed music.

Does anyone remember that show that used to come on NBC really early in the morning before Mr. Bogus and Captain N? It was a really, really bad Wayne's World ripoff, and the two guys would hop in their TV set and turn into animated bulldogs on surfboards until some eyeball thing would chase them out. I think they also had some comedic live-action segments in between...like some guy dressed up as a vampire or something. Anyway...it was a really wacked out show, but fairly entertaining.

Grounded for life and rude awakening. Rude awakening is one of my all time favorite shows, starring sherilyn fenn as a struggling alcoholic. Wicked funny. I only taped like 5 episodes though, and have got about 6 or 7 more from emmy consideration tapes I bought off ebay. I've tried trying to find more, but no one seems to be selling them (other than the pre-recorded emmy tapes) on any tv show message boards or anything.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002)

He-Man & the MOTU (2002) will be released along with the classic series sometime in the near future.

Batman (60's)
Six Million Dollar Man
The Bionic Woman

Six Million and Bionic Woman DVD sets are in the works. Batman will likely never be released due to rights issues.

The Wonder Years

This will likely never be released on DVD. If it is, expect 90% of the music to be changed. It's too costly to release this series on DVD since it used a lot of classic/popular music.

Thunder In Paradise

Yes the show with Hulk Hogan, and Curt Lemmon. Me, and my dad were regular watchers of the show, and I loved it. I would gladly pay good money to get it on DVD

I remember this series. It was actually pretty decent. I'd like to see it on DVD.

Brisco County Jr
The State
The Flash
and Parker Lewis Cant Lose

I've never seen Brisco County, but I know dozens of people that swear by it. I'd have to check it out if it came out on DVD.

I still haven't seen my DVDs of The State, but I'm sure that it's awesome. With all the talented people in it, how can it not be? Anyway, at least they are working on getting this out, and aren't doing a half-assed job. They said they won't release it until they get all the rights to all the music in the show.

By "The Flash," do you mean the comic adaptation that was on CBS in the early nineties. I remember that show; it was pretty good. "If you ever need me... I'll be there in a flash."

Parker Lewis... I remember watching that when they showed it on USA. Wasn't it originally on Fox?

yeah i agree some of those prices are insane, but all things considered (as long as the quality is good) the batman set is fairly reasonable since there are close to 200 episodes anyways.

1) Tales From the Darkside

Produced by George Romero and Richard Rubenstein, the same team that did Dawn of the Dead and most of Romero's other films, this is my favorite series of all time. This was like a more intelligent (and demonic) Tales From the Crypt. I already have all the episodes on a bootleg dvd, but this needs an actual decent treatment (at least as well as Ray Bradbury Theater got).

2) Birds of Prey

This show is cheezy as hell, and it's pretty far out (infinite earth-esque take on the Batman universe), but I enjoyed for some sick reason. Three hot chicks, Batman villians... How can you really go wrong?

3) Today's Special, You Can't Do that on Television, and Turkey Television

These were on Nickelodeon when I was like 5 and I can't remember if they were actually good or if I was too young to notice. I'm pretty sure all were Canadian imports in a much better time when Nickelodeon wasn't a mass-market media and toy giant. Oh yeah, and it went off the air at like 5 or 6 pm and A&E came on in the evenings then. I'd just like to see a "Best of the early 80's Nickelodeon" DVD with a sample of all of those old shows.

Most definately, I said that earlier. I would buy that in a heartbeat. I have a VHS of like 5 episodes, I believe.

I would like to see Fairly Oddparnets, actually. (Don't hurt me)

I'm actually hoping you were serious. This is the one show my son watches that I actually genuinely like. It's one of the smartest 'kid' shows I've seen, and does what a good show should do - plays to kids without playing down to them.

One of the villains threw out a Talking Heads quote on an episode. And the villain with the mullet is called Motor Ed - now that's funny! (say it fast)

Awesome. I need to pick those up soon too.

There was one on last week where Rufus had to slam a bunch of food to be heavy enough to move a lever - I swear I was laughing so much watching him try to even get to the lever that my wife was looking at me with the "uh.. are you okay?" face. :)

Reading Rainbow (PBS)

I was about to type that...

All kidding aside, if that shit came out on DVD -- and I'm talking EVERY episode -- that day would supercede the importance of future events in my life; my wedding day, the birth of my first-born, accepting my first Oscar, etc.

That one episode where LeVar cleans out his garage and he finds that (the board game) Mousetrap-like domino-rally kinda thing was just pure magic...

Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Salute your Shorts

Yes! I have a few things to add to that list...

Boston Public
Working (short lived sitcom, but one of my favorites)
Rocko's Modern Life
Spin City (full seasons, not just "best of" collections)

Now for my "nice thought, but not likely" section:

I'm With Busey (hilarious but I doubt Comedy Central would release a show like this that was never exactly big ratings, long after it's TV run concluded)

WWE Raw "season" sets (god only knows how many DVD's this would require... but fuck it, I'd buy it)

I would buy any of those shows the day they came out as long as the release was handled properly (i.e. complete seasons with decent picture quality).

C-16, VR5, Nothing Sacred, the american version of Cracker, life as we know it, The Charmings (believe that's the title), Strange Luck, the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon, The Tick cartoon, Now and Again, Action, Touching Evil, Witchblade, Brisco County Jr., Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills (simply because it is the WORST show ever made)

Thank god in the last year alone Sledgehammer (both seasons) and PROFIT!!! have been released on DVD. Things are looking up.

Sadly, I don't know what that means. I've never seen the show.

And I'm saying it for the 1,000th time... I still haven't watched my DVDs of The State. Don't know why... maybe I need to have someone strap me in a chair and put them on for me. Don't know why I keep delaying the goodness.

Well, basically, it was a fake product they were promoting during one episode, and it was basically a magnetic candy bar that pulled out the guys fillings and made the mic stick to his face. Just one thing I remember from the show.

I need to find this show. Please release it, Comedy Central! Or at least play it a few times a week at 3 in the morning. Didn't this show last a few seasons?

I can remember seeing bits of it when our local cable company first got Comedy Central. Of course, way back then I was too stupid to realize what the hell the show was, and didn't get to see it. Argh!

Yeah, that's what happens sometimes. You look at something, and you are too young/stupid to appreciate it/understand it, or your tastes were different, or something...

Hopefully I'll get a chance to see this show.

Jesus christ, how old ARE you people?

I'm 21 and I used to watch those shows when I was a kid. I wouldn't mind rewatching those series at all. Pure good old fashion entertainment without any emphasis on sex, violence, or drugs.

Old enough to enjoy childhood nostalgia?
Word.
