View Full Version : Question on the Onimusha Series
What is the order of the Onimusha Games?
Is Genma Onimusha (Xbox) a diferent game from the first Onimusha game (Warlords) on the PS2. I think it is, but not sure.

Genma Onimusha is the Xbox version of Warlords. It's basically the original game with some minor additions.

Onimusha is the shit. If you've got an Xbox, grab Genma Onimusha, then get 2 and 3 on PS2 (obvious since that's the only platform they're on)
So Genma is the same as Warlords pretty much? Damn, glad I asked as I would have assumed otherwise. I have played Genma - freaking difficult game, had to play on easy! Are 2 and 3 on the same difficulty level? Do they use the same funky absolute to the on-screen character control scheme? (Meaning pushing left moves to your character's left and not to the left as you are seeing the screen. Hope that makes sense.) It took some getting used to, but in some ways it seemed to allow for more precise battle controls.

2 and 3 were a lot easier than Genma Onimusha was. You use that control scheme for Onimusha 1 and 2, but 3 had a different control scheme that feels a lot more natural (like Devil May Cry.) I definitely think you should stick with Genma Onimusha though because it had some extra areas added in and had slightly better graphics... it's a great game.

I have the whole onimusha series and its just awesome I love the whole series. I heard though that the 3rd was the last and they are done with it forever. true?

That's what they had said, but I think they have a 4th in the works.

I just picked up Onimusha 3 for the PS2. Great graphics for a PS2 game.
