Buffalo Wild Wings' nickname is BW3. I get the two 'W's', but where is this mysterious third 'W' coming from?

I've wondered that myself. We have a BW3 here in town.

Maybe it's a zen thing, like maybe we should be looking for the third 'W' in ourselves...
On second thought, that's lame as hell. Stupid BW3...
Well shoot. Now it's going to bug me until I find out.

Maybe the wings are so wild they end up on their side counter clockwise 90 degrees. W.....to.....3 get it?

I'm off to BW3 (lousy...) right now, maybe I'll ask...
Ah. It's become apparent, thanks to the Goog. It was originally "Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck" when if first started. A weck was a local name for a seeded kaiser roll. They just got tired of having to explain what a weck was, so they shortened it to just Buffalo Wild Wings, though the company name was still referred to as "BW-3."

Success! We have the answer. I wonder how you pronounce "weck"?
