View Full Version : Yoshi: Topsy Turvy
I just picked this game up, and when I came home I was kind of suprised to see it had a 61% average from Game Rankings. It got sort of mixed reviews, so in your opinion is it worth keeping? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm wondering this exact same thing. I couldn't pass it up for $17.88 at target...but I haven't opened it yet.

I haven't heard a good thing about it.
I do not own it for the simple reason it seems that everyone says that the tilting is fucked up.

this game is pretty SHORT and it make the game look bad but still worth $18. I rather pickup Sonic Gems Collection instead this game ;)

I believe an answer can be found.......may the force be with you when you try the game out.
LoL j/k just thought your rank title was funny. You shouldnt go by reviews though, sometimes they can really mess up(they scored LOTR: 3rd age 8s and up and i hated it, Shadow Hearts didnt get flying colors and i really liked it). The only way to find out if you like the game is to play it for yourself. Since you own it, might as well play it then sell it on here if you dont enjoy it and cant return it
Well, this is a prime example of why you cant go by reviews. I ended up opening the game, and its really fun. I reccomend it.

Couldn't agree more!! Just picked up Yoshi Topsy-Turvy the other day and it's a really, really fun game! It is a little on the short side, but it's got a little replayability to it with the standard Nintendo collect-a-thon stuff (in this case eggs).
Some might argue that the bang for the buck isn't there, but I'd disagree. A game doesn't have to span 80 hours of gameplay to be worth it. Yoshi T-T is worth full price in my book just for the novelty of the tilt sensor and the sheer fun of it.
Kinda thinking of DK King of Swing now, since people dogged it like Yoshi T-T. 8-)

How is this game compared to Kirby Tilt and Tumble--my girlfriend loved that game, trying to keep her interested in gaming with something new.

Gotta confess I never got to play Tilt and Tumble, but Yoshi T-T is pretty darned fun. It's remarkably easy to control (in spite of what you may have heard), it's almost always intuitive, it's good looking, and it's pretty fun.
I'd imagine a casual gamer would also really appreciate the brevity of the levels. Makes for a nice pick-up game for five minutes.
If you can get a deal on it, especially go for it. I missed the $17.88 Target sale but was able to get it for $24.99 just recently.

Like I said in another thread about this game, I definitely wouldn't be put off by the reviews games get. In this case, I really enjoy Yoshi: Topsy-Turvy.

Yaeh, I picked this game up at Target for $17.88 since I didn't think it would get any lower (most GBA games generally don't go much lower unless through the GGC, etc.). I opened it up, and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. It's a bit short, but definitely has a big fun factor to it. i'd recommend it to people.
CC doesnt have it, so I PM it instead at BB and got it for $13.49. At this price it is a good buy.

I just picked this game up for $10 at the gamerush sale and it's surprisingly awesome. It's a lot better than Artoon's other stinker, Yoshi's Island DS. The gameplay and graphics are reminiscent of Mischief Makers.

It's sort of like what Yoshi's Story for the N64 was to Yoshi's Island on the Super Nintendo only if Yoshi's Story had completely shitty controls in addition to not being all that great. I really didn't like it.

This is coming from someone who likes Kingdom Hearts.

Ugh, I say Kingdom Hearts is a guilty pleasure once and now I've been branded for life. I think Kingdom Hearts is fun, but highly overrated.
What does that have to do with thinking Topsy Turvy is a mediocre game though?
I just grabbed this for $8 during the Amazon 60% off craziness. I've heard really mixed reviews, but for $8 it's worth a shot. Glad to hear some people hear like it.
