Sounds like a CAG sort of event with all sorts of freebies. Too bad they're making weird stops on the tour. Only two Texas stops, one in the valley, and one in Austin. They totally miss Dallas and Houston and San Antonio (kind of), 3 of the 10 biggest US cities. Pondering visiting friends in Austin that day... :)

Pondering visiting friends in Austin that day...

same here...

i'm up in dallas, that's my birthday weekend, and i have a friend down in austin that i haven't seen in a few months. i'm gonna try to drive down and check this thing out, but i'm hesitant after hearing that the event is total crap.

others who have been reported lame giveaways (baby tees, stickers, tattoos), a small nintendo presence, and broken download kiosks. plus, since the event is in a mall, the noise prevents anyone from actually playing and enjoying nintendogs, seeing as how voice commands are so important to the game. i don't think i've found one person so far that's been impressed with the event. still... i'm a sucker for free stuff.

I'm from Dallas too. I hadn't heard anything about it except that little blurb. I guess it's started already, where'd you see reports from the event?

I think that's right before it comes to Texas. Tell us what you get so we can decide whether to go!

yeah, i think all dates are before the austin one... isn't it the last stop... or next to last?

the negative reports i saw were either from the nintendo boards (which would be surprising since those users tend to love everything nintendo) or GAF (which wouldn't be surprising since they hate everything). i mean, you might not be able to trust those opinions, but when you hear the same thing over and over, and see pics of what looks like a really lame event... it becomes pretty convincing.

i don't know. i still might go. i want to go. if i don't, i'll regret it and think that i blew my shot at the bling bling DS. but i don't wanna drive that far for a couple stickers and a baby tee.

I might hit up one, never been to any video game expo thing like this lolThe modern Nintendo ones are pretty cool since DS games and demos can just be broadcasting over the airwaves. And I hear what you're saying Doc, it's a long way to drive for stickers. That's why you have to make the excuse of visiting your friend!

There is only two comming through IL and both of them are up north. It'll be over a 5 hour drive for me which sucks. I won't be going for sure.
