Picked up a DS today along with a case and Kirby for $42-ish after trade-ins. My copy of Polarium arrived today as well. So what else is a DS must-have? Build me up a nice list so I can test my self-restraint and not buy them all at once.

the following 3 are coming out very soon:
Lunar
Lost in Blue
Trace Memory

Those all seem pretty solid to me.

Polarium got old real fast. So does Wario Ware to an extent.
I hear good things about Yoshi's Touch and Go and Kirby.

Zoo Keeper was talked fondly of, and it's pretty cheap now.

Am I the only one who feels a strong desire to hug that gopher whenever they see his avatar pic?

Also, heard "Feel the Magic" is worth adding since it can be had for under $20 now.

definitely Advance Wars: Dual Strike.

i've put about 40 hours into that game alone. far more than my other 2 DS games (Nintendogs and Polarium) combined.

Tennis no Ouijisama was alright. I just felt it could of been better on the DS. Still, it was probably in production before the DS came out. It's still a good game if you like prince of tennis.

Indeed. Though the touch interface for Nintendogs and Kirby make it seem a little weak, it's still worth having for under twenty bones.

 "hug that gopher..."

Pretty much anything on the DS is worth trying, other than crap like Madagascar and some EA stuff.

I mean, everything is a unique experience in one way or the other - click the link for my collection, I would recommend everything I currently own.

Nintendogs gets boring as hell after a week, there's just not much to do in the game.

Zoo Keeper is highly recommended by me and many others. It's an extremely fun puzzler.

Some games to look out for include Lunar DS, Lost in Blue, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Castlevania, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Snowboard Kids... and I'm sure I'm still forgetting some titles.

Feel the Magic. IMO that's the only must have DS game.

Warioware, Nintendogs (if you like that sort of thing), and Polairum are great. I hear Meteos and Advance Wars are good as well.

Nintendogs, WarioWare, Feel the Magic and PAc N' Roll are awesome plays.

As for imports, Jump Superstars and Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan are great games.

I've heard good things about Daigasso! Band Brothers, but I haven't picked it up yet.

What is this Prince of Tennis game? I <3 PoT

As for upcoming games, Lost in Blue, Trauma Center, and Mario Kart are among the many games I'm looking forward to.

Kirby, Meteos, Advance Wars DS, WarioWare Touched!, and Nintendogs are all worth checking out.

Mario 64 DS and FtM are worth looks too.

Warioware
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Nintendogs
Meteos (a must IMO. I have put so much time in this game it isn't funny. It just fun and hella addictive.)
Zoo Keeper (when it is on sale for $10 at a Kmart sale)
Feel the Magic (again when Kmart has it on sale)
Mario 64 DS isn't bad either if you haven't played the original or just for the fun minigames. I'd wait on this one to be cheaper or used though, but that might take sometime since most NIntendo games take a while to become cheap.

Feel the Magic (again when Kmart has it on sale)

Wasn't it the Kmart sale price $14.99? Something about Kmart not marking it down to $19.99 yet, so it was half off the old price of $29.99.

Anyways, if it was $14.99 on sale, you can get Feel the Magic for that price at BestBuy any day with the GCC, cause BestBuy's regular price is $19.99.

But back on topic, I just got my DS and have been enjoying the heck out of Advance Wars: DS, this game is perfect for stylus use. I personally can't wait for Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Also I should be getting Kirby: CC soon and hopefully Meteos if ever goes on sale again.

these ones are the only ones worth buying and they all are awsome, the rest aren't so good, but heres the list of what to get in order of greatness:

1. advance war DS
2. Nintendogs
3. meteos
4. Mario 64 DS
5. Wario ware
6. kirby

crap I totaly forgot about Nanostray, that belongs probably in the #3 or 4 spot

That's almost the exact same list I would make:

Advance Wars, Kirby, Nintendogs, Nanostray, Meteos, Mario 64, Wario

For upcoming games, save your monies for:

Animal Crossing, Castlevania, Lunar, Trauma Center, New Super Mario Bros, supposedly Secret of Mana

And for multiplayer playing:

Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Hunters

I had Band Brothers(import) for a while. It was cool and lots of fun, but I can only get so far in those types of games.

Might get it again when it becomes localized for U.S.

This one screen shot of Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time just made my day

One thing I've noticed is that most DS games are unplayable after a while, as they lose their novelty value. Like Nintendogs, for instance. It may just be me, though.

Give WarioWare! Touched a go. I still play it from time to time.

Well I returned my shitty cell phone dock charge to BB yesterday and picked up Advance Wars. Haven't been able to play it yet, but we're going to the valley for a wedding today... so I'll get plenty of chances. ;)

Bomberman is one game that's been very overlooked. The single-player mode is weak, but multiplayer is fun with 3 or 4 people.

That's what I've heard, but the problem is, my friends don't own the DS... yet.

Hmm...since I was also looking for good games....Here's what I think.

1. Advance Wars: DS
2. Mario 64
3. Lost in Blue (Guessing)
4. Trace Memory (Guessing)
5. Meteos
6. Feel the Magic (Buy at a low price)

Those are the games I feel are must haves and potentially 2 future must-haves. I can tell you this...Advance Wars is amazing and difficult at times. Mario 64, after having beat it the 1st time around the the N64 and playing the DS one, it's pretty different but still has a great feel to it. Meteos...yeah addictive. Lastly, Feel the Magic is fun for all the mini games and its pretty funny...at least I liked it.
