sounds like everything I hoped for: intense surgery and an awesomely ridiculous story-line (a greek god gives you the ability to perceive things twice as fast a normal human? wtf?)

It's by Atlus? I wanted to try it out before. But now I guess it's pretty set in stone!

I think this game will probably be rare in a year or so. The concept won't interest American consumers and Atlus will only do a limited print like they do with most of their games.

I have to say I'm disappointed by the graphics. I was hoping they'd be photo realistic and such. I wanted this of a high enough quality to be a surgical training tool if anything. I'll probably buy it because no one will make the surgical training tool for me as well as hospitals even though I'd pay an easy $100 for one of those programs.

You're kidding right?

It's a game...

On a screen...

Who in their right mind would give you a real scalpel for just having practiced on a screen?

It's a game, it knows that it's a game and it doesn't try to be something else.
Rare in a year? I don't know, but it won't be because of low consumption, this game will do even better than Kirby DS because it fully utilizes the DS touch screen and sports a story and themes geared towards an older audience.

Sir, calm down, you're going to give yourself skin failure. The symptoms you describe lead me to believe that you are suffering from bonus eruptus, a rare disorder in which the skeleton tries to jump out of the skin. The only way to stop it is through transdental electromicide. I'll need a golf cart motor and a thousand volt capacimator, stat

Man, I just checked gamestop.com and this is coming out on the same day as Phoenix Wright. Thanks a lot, Atlus and Capcom. Now so many fans of crazy Japanese games are going to have to make the same decision as so many rich suburbanite kids--doctor or lawyer.

My lawyer brother will get a kick out of Phoenix Wright. He's into the litigation side of things....I'm going to be more of an office lawyer, if I decide to go into it. either that, or I'll be the next Dr. Gonzo ;-)

I got reviewable code for this a few weeks back, but all reviews (online anyway) are embargoed for Oct. 4th at last check. Mine will be on GameSpy at that point, as I submitted it late last week. I've been a huge fan of Trauma Center since E3. If you haven't played it yet, you're in for a treat. A bloody treat covered in shards of glass.

Maybe they should make a game where you can operate and dismember the Nintendogs.

Man... this could lead to like the worst medical experience ever... the doc comes in wiping at his nose and the white powder on his top lip, shaking a little and saying "it's cool, it's cool... I was just brushing up on Trauma Center so I'm ready to go now."

Anyway, it reminds me a little of an old computer game from back when I had an Amiga 500 (rock!) called Life or Death or something like that. Except cross-breeded with Yu-Gi-Oh or some other anime crap.

The use of the magic green injections will obviously be on the med school entry exam, as will your adept execution of the Healing Touch. Without those two skills, youre obviously toast.

Yes they have a special mask and special"stylus" you just have to hang around outside your local hospital. You will find them in the special red plastic bins that say biohazardous material danger on them. ;P
