View Full Version : Shipping an item question
I don't know if this question belongs here so if not it can be deleted, but I was wondering about shipping a PS2 game to someone. I sold it on eBay, but now I need to ship it, and I don't know how much it weighs and I don't have a scale to way it. What would be the approximate weight of an item like this? Under a pound? If someone could help that was shipped an item before like this, that'd be great! Thanks CAG's.

Just go to your local usps and have them tell you. Easy as 1 - 2 - 3

Or try a UPS Store if there is one nearby.
I've personally never tried USPS because they seemed lacking in the materials department, but they should actually be cheaper.
Shipping a game should set you back around $5 or so.

I'm not sure about the weight without actually weighing it but if you send it first class with delivery confirmation it will cost you somwhere around $2.

yes, one game should cost about that much, but you probably have to buy the envelope too, so it should be somewhere between 3-4 dollars. just go to the post office, they have all you need and you can do it while you wait in line
See, the thing is I'd like to print the shipping label right of USPS.com and ship it out so they can set up the delivery confirmation and everything. But they ask for the weight of the item, and I can't tell if it's a under or over a pound. Anyone here have a scale that weighs small items that could help?

Its under a pound for sure. It should be around 4-6 ounces. If you do need to buy a bubble mailer, make sure you look around a little, you can get them for less than 20 cents a lot of time depending on how many you buy.

Awesome, thanks a lot, this defiantly helps. I do plan to ship it through a bubble mailer envelope, I'll probably just pick a couple up as I have to ship more than 1 game to another person and I do plan to sell more games. Thanks again.
By the way I see you live in Wisconsin, that's awesome.

With the weight of a bubble envelope included, most PS2 games I have shipped are 5.9 - 7 ounces.

Ok, that should work, I mainly just needed to know if it's under a pound after shipping everything so I didn't have to end up going to the post office. So thanks everyone for the help!

I send all of my stuff with the flat-rate priority envelopes USPS ($3.85 w/o confirmation, $4.30 with). Makes things a whole lot easier as you don't have to come up with your own packaging.

Actually what I just did is got 2 bubble envelopes, and shipped both games off USPS Media Mail, costed me $1.55 w/ delivery confirmation for each one, and I never had to leave my house to ship the item. Printed the label right from online, packed it up, put it outside my door, and the carrier picked it right up. So that's the way I'll be shipping my games from now on. It's cheap, and simple.

I'm not sure if delivery confirmation works with media mail. I could be wrong though.

Yes, it does, at least if you print the labels online under eBay items. You and the buyer will both get an email able to track the item, but being that the items come fast, there really isn't that much of a need to track them. But not to bad for $.13
