Fall?!!
With the recent price drop of the original Halo and the release of Halo 2 not until fall I'd expect Halo sales to increase.
Well, I guess I'll just keep on playing multiplayer until then.

This game gets so much hype and the release date gets pushed back so much that I don't even care any more. I still think it will be an awesome game, but I can wait.

I wasn't expecting it before Christmas 04...let them take their time, get it right, then promote the hell out of it and push Xbox sales through the roof over the holidays.
Excited much.

this sucks they keep pushing and pushing it back. why dont they just keep their mouth shut until they KNOW its ready not when they think its going to be ready and have an estimate or they anticipate it to be ready. Seriously I just going to get my money back from the pre order down payment I gave. Why get all fired up just to push it back another season.

Don't be an asshole. There never has been a formal release date for Halo 2 set by Bungie until now. They have always said it'll be ready when it's done. It's never been pushed back. Not once. It's been EB and other online retailers jumping all over the place with their dates. If you feel the need to be mad at anyone, be mad at the retailers trying to grab your preorder buck..
Hell, Bungie even reiterated that in that article linked above:
So remember last year when we told you we don't announce release dates until we're confident we'll meet our deadline? Well now were confident. Halo 2 will ship in Fall, 2004. Please make a note of it.
And as for this:
Yeah i bet its gonna be like Brute Force....game got pushed back so much the graphics were out dated by the time it was finally released
Okay, that's just stupid.

Its great to see the company actually telling us the release date. The retailers want our preorders so bad that they just pull these false release dates out of god knows where. Still, just saying fall is pretty vague. Basically this means we wont see it in stores til October at the earliest but even more likely November is my guess.

Everyone bitching about the non-exsistant date being pushed back should just relax.
It could have been worse, Bungie could have announced it to be a launch title for the xbox next.

Now how is that stupid, It's True! Did u happen to enjoy the game Brute Force?? Prolly not and if u did u were one of the few.......I mean Brute Force was so hyped up, that everyone compared it to Halo and they kept delaying it and delaying it until a year later and look at the game it BLEW.....And please dont be Doggin everyones opinon around here....and hey THX

First, yes, I did enjoy Brute Force.
What you said in your earlier post was ignorant. You said "the graphics were out dated by the time it was finally released." There was no such problem with the graphics, and I'd almost bet you've never seen the real game, just screen shots.
The graphics had nothing to do with why the game didn't sell as well or meet the expectations. It was hyped as a Halo-killer, and neither the story nor the multiplayer did anything revolutionary (or evolutionary) enough to merit that title. Does that mean it wasn't fun or playable, though? Nope. It's still a blast to play.
I'm not "Doggin everyones opinon around here," yo. If you post publicly on a message board, then what you say is up for debate and/or commentary.

U are truely one of the few then, and yes the graphics on brute force were bad, Yes they paid high detail to the characters and all enemies but not he surrounding landscape, all they did was touch up the character graphics before release...and left the game as is from a year when it was gonna come out first. Also i did see the real game of HALO 2 the same 10 minute trailer that was seen at E3 expo, and the graphics looked great, but what im saying is will they still look good to us in 6 months, who knows maybe, maybe not.

Just a reminder...
Half Life 2 had a release date too. Has anyone played it yet? :D

Brute Force wasn't THAT bad of a game. 3 player coop was kinda fun, but it did have some very repetitive areas that got a bit sickening. It'd be a good game to rent, I think.
Good to know Halo 2 has a real release date... well, quarter, anyway.
