A local friend of mine, and various other people around the country on the web, are reporting that Oldboy is marked $12.99 at Circuit City stores. Of course, since the price is still $20 online, this could be a YMMV situation.
I apologize if this is a repost.

A few notes about this:
My local friend said that the DVDs were tagged at $12.99.
Other reports from deal-seekers state that it's possible the DVDs could be marked at $19.99 or so, but scan at $12.99.
Hopefully you all have some luck with this. It's worth a shot to check it out.

It's about this old guy, who's really a boy.. and has dreams about Michael Jackson wanting him.. but MJ really doesn't want him because he's actually old...
J/K, I've never heard of the damned thing. At first, I thought he was talking about Old Yeller or something

Imagine this . . . it’s your daughter’s third birthday today. After buying her a birthday gift, you are grabbed and knocked out by several men. When you wake, you find yourself in a room with four walls, decorated to look like a cheap motel with nothing but a bed, a desk and drawer, some pads to write on, a mirror on the wall, and a TV set to keep you company. Incarcerated against your will, there is no one to talk to, no one to hear you, no one to ask why – no judge, no jury, no executioner. At first, you can only pray that they will let you out in a few weeks, but the weeks become months and the months soon become years. Eventually, you look in the mirror and see that your youth has been spent in your cell, imprisoned without any rhyme or reason. What did you do wrong? Who did you piss off? Why did you get incarcerated? No one to hear you cry and no one to hear you pray except a television set . . . That is exactly what happened to Oh Daesu (Choi Min Sik). Facing nothing but four walls and a TV set, Oh Daesu sees the news that his wife was murdered by him three years to the date he was incarcerated. Obviously someone is framing him and that same person is keeping him in prison. At first, he prays and when his prayers aren’t answered, he gives up hope and tries to commit suicide. But after awhile, it just becomes rage and fury. Oh Daesu begins to train himself by punching the walls, watching all the fights on TV, educating himself through the TV set for that one day when he gets out, Oh Daesu will unleash unholy hell on the man who put him there. But who is it and why did he put Daesu there?

"Old Boy" is an amazing movie. Easily worth $19.99, if you can find it for less, just buy it...one of the few movies I can recommend as a blind-buy.

are you friggin' retarded? so, you would recommend oldboy to anyone? even your mother?
the movie is about as fucked up and vengeful as could possibly be... think early tarantino (Dogs, Fiction, True Romance...) but even more violent. more along the lines of Natural Born Killers. so, if that isn't your cup o' tea, please, for the love of god, don't buy this movie.
i'll leave you with this:
if you like seeing a man cut off his own tongue with scissors, by all means, watch it and enjoy.

For those really interested, as graphic as the movie is, all of the really graphic stuff is done OFF screen. So, technically, Kill Bill Vol. 1 is much more graphic. In addition, Oldboy is part of a trilogy of vengeance movies, the first being Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (also recommended), and the recently released in Korea, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. It's not recommended for those who are bothered by the idea of revenge, but if you're interested, you won't find it done much better anywhere else.

i never said scary, you jerkoff... learn to read. it's impossible to deny that scenes in that movie are "horrifying" by the very definition of the word.

i'd kill myself it were in english. in my opinion i find that most films don't have the same effect when you have a cheesy english voiced dubbed in. just learn to read faster.
it may be disturbing to some, but it's not as graphic in its violence as some american movies.

Picked it up yesterday for $12.99 and only one there. Can't wait to see it. Heard the good and bad reviews but with a Quentin Tarantino recommendation have to get it. Also I like the Asian Tartan Extreme line of films.
