The financial drain of tracking down copies of Suikoden 1 and 2 for the original PlayStation are out of bounds for most gamers, but Konami's about to make those gaming experiences a heck of a lot easier with Suikoden 1&2, ports of both games to PSP.
Not only that, but Konami's bundling the duo onto one UMD! There don't appear to be any enhancements being made to the conversions, and given the track record of most companies with their PSP ports, don't really expect Konami to work overtime on this.
As you'd expect, there's no word on a US release, but given the current drought of releases for the portable, we wouldn't be surprised to see it come over sometime next year.
Arg, now I have to think about selling my suikoden 2. I could always get a PSP and this game one day.

I'm leaving this open though, since it's posted in the PSP section where it belongs.

I agree Kayden nice games. I think the PSP could only benifit from some good RPGs.

This is great news, I have really wanted to play both of these, and hopefully a US release will finally let me.
on the other hand, it seems the psp games that interst me are popolorisis, devil summer, and suikoden 1+2. All happens to be port of old PSone games.

No extra features? Konami should really take a copy out of Square's book when it comes to porting over old games.

The one thing that isn't answered is:
"Is there a way to get my save game into Suikoden 3?"
Maybe put the PS2's usb slot to some good use by making an card reader or possibly a memory card holder that you can put your Duo memory stick into?
I'm currently going through all of them with one save game passed all the way through. I'm in the middle of doing the second set of missions in Suikoden 3.

But they would do well to. The PSP market is starved for an RPG right now...

Name me a game that is announced to ship to the US the very day that it is announced for Japan. 100% of me thinks its coming here. Just give it time to at least come out there first :-p

There is alot of game. The U.S is the biggest video game market.
Mario
Metal Gear
Resident Evil
Zelda
etc...
Here's an article from some website, I forgot which one
Konami's Announcement at the Tokyo Game Show that both Suikoden I and Suikoden II would be ported to the PSP on one single UMD disc left those who couldn't find, or afford, these rare games hopeful that they would be able to lay their hands on the two titles without plunking down an asinine amount of cash on eBay for them. Unfortunately, it looks as if importing this compilation may be your only option at this point, because Konami has announced that it will be released in Japan only.
I'm not saying that it will never be release here but I just wanted to let you guys know that they have no plan to release it here YET. Notice the "yet"..

They'll localize it. I'm sure it's a cheap and easy process to do the localized U.S. versions now that the Japanese emulation is done. Both are NTSC based regions.
I wouldn't expect a huge hit on the Suikoden II eBay market. No way to play UMD's on TV's yet. Is it just me or does someone else expect PSP games to be able to be played someway somehow on the PS3?
