If anyone is looking for a gamecube and controller, there are 3 boxed for 24.98 clearence... it's like the back endcap about 3 rows away from electronics going into like other crap electronics...VERY BOTTOM shelf... had to like bend over and on my knees to see the others back in there...
This is in the Target west side, Mineral Pt Rd in Madison.
I snagged one, just in case, there is I think 3 left, 1 of them looks like it used to be a soccer ball in another life.
I used the 5 off 25 target coupon... can't been a new cube and controller for 20.
I thought of snaggin one and selling it, but ebay is crap now.

Before everyone rushes off to Target to buy the $25 Gamecubes, it should be noted that these are the redesigned models (DOL-101) without a component jack on the back. If you don't have Gamecube component cables (they are hard to find and expensive), this isn't really a big deal.
For the rest of us who care about such things, buyer beware (or just play your Gamecube games on the Wii with component hook-ups). However, one thing you can't do with the Wii is use your Gameboy Player. Not many people know that all GBA games are 480p when using the 1st model GC and component cables. It really makes a difference on an HDTV.
When Nintendo announced that they were discontinuing the older "progressive scan" GC's (DOL-001), I bought a back up GC to keep when my original finally bites it. I managed to find a stash of them at Circuit City on the Eastside (Madison). This was sometime during the summer of 2005. Preplayed still has some DOL-001's for those that are interested.

This is a super huge YMMV.
I went to the Northridge Best Buy this afternoon in Milwaukee. While looking at the table in the front of the store (double yellow stickers at 50% off) an employee came up to me and said "I can give you everything on this table for $100". I only saw 1 item I wanted (Halo 3 guide) but he seemed totally serious, like they wanted to move it all asap.
I didn't see anything pressing but I did see: Vinyl Ninja Wall Scrolls, Family Guy DVD Trivia Games, a stack of Halo 3 guides, some PS3 racing games, a few sub $20 Xbox 360 games, and a few others.
If your in the area, drop by and ask about it. Might be good trade fodder. I should have got the employees name but he was a black man and if they were to ask, I was a 6'8" white guy (slightly balding) wearing a green & white pinstripe polo and black shorts. I was in there around 4pm.

I was at the Toys r Us in Appleton (by the Fox River Mall) yesterday, and they are offering a free Brett Favre McFarlane figure (they told me it was the 2008 Wave 1 figure) if you pre-order Madden 09 on any system. Good deal if you aren't too pissed about this whole Favre/Packers situation.
Speaking of Toys R Us, I was at the Green Bay one today. They still have, among other games, for $8 after 20% discount:

~2 Contra 4 DS
~3 Master of Illusion DS
~4 Zack & Wiki (Wii)

They have the annoying habit of leaving the display cases in the glass case, making you think there are more titles than there are.

It's less to do with an "annoying habit", and more to do with general laziness. They have some winners working there, let me tell you. Wow.

I've never seen anything fabulous as far as clearance games down there. I think most 360 games were about $20 when they went on clearance--can probably find them cheaper elsewhere.
However, when Shopko holds their clearances, it's a great time to go there. Weeks after the sale started up, I was able to get there and grab my top games, and there were multiple copies remaining.
Edit-wow, I just realized how confusing my post must have been. I thought you asked about Wal-Mart clearance. Silly me, but as you might have ascertained, the Shopko clearance is picked over as of right now. The 360 games are Blitz and some other not good games for $20. The DS has movie tie in games (not sure off the top of my head which ones) for $10

Just be sure you check through their entire collection, they'll often have the same game marked at different prices.

Hey, people post here?
The local target on hwy 100 and National is no good for clearances.. nothing seems to ever go below $15. I think they give a lot of it to the local goodwill on Oklahoma.

That place is so hit and miss and pretty much has been gutted for months, if you get anything there you pretty much have to get there at store open when you know when it drops..
I would say unless your at the right places at the right times Milwaukee in a whole and close areas are picked clean.

I was just at the Big Lots in West Allis (the one at the corner of Highway 100 and Oklahoma Ave.) - they had Guitar Hero III PS2 bundles for $50. Didn't look too close at it, but I believe they had about 8 - 10 left or so.

FYI for La Crosse/Onalaska:
Kohl's has some good, albeit limited, clearance right now. I picked up Tony Hawk's American Sk8land (DS) for $8. There were some $10 Wii and PS2 games there as well.
Target clearance has sucked this whole month, so I wouldn't bother there. What happened to their sweet clearance endcaps?
Toys R Us has a handful of $10 PS2 games (ex. DDR Supernova 2 for $10).
GameStop in the mall has Tokobot Plus (PS2) brand new in stock right now for $10. As usual, they still have crap for used game selection.
Anybody live on the south side of La Crosse? Anything good over there at ShopKo, Kmart, or Walmart??

La Crosse/Onalaska
The KMart is pretty much always terrible. I live about a minute or two away from it and stop in every now and then; the only game I've ever bought there was Guitar Hero 3 w/ Guitar. Every store was sold out, but Kmart actually had a stack, still.
The South Side Walmart is pretty much the same as every Walmart in the area. They're a number of cents cheaper on games and the like, but it's rare that they actually have a good deal.
I've gotten lucky in the past with the Shopko, every now and then you can find a decent deal on a clearance game. I haven't been down there in a couple of weeks, I'll try to check them out in the next couple of days.

I don't know if this is valid at all Pawn Americas, or just the one in Onalaska, but, they're currently at 35% off everything in the store. All DVDs are also just $2.99.
I picked up a 40GB PS3 for only $220, so not a bad deal if you don't mind used items...
(And it came with an HDMI cable, so that was another $50 saved, but that was just a lucky find; the guy left it in the box...)

Found Shining Force Exa (PS2) at ShopKo, Onalaska for $3.99. It was marked as $9.99 but rang up cheaper. It was on the shelf of "clearance" (not always true) items in the game section. Haven't tried with any other games, but it's possible more games might ring up cheaper. Even without extra discount, there were some okay prices there (incl. DS: $20 Magical Starsign, Lost in Blue).

I stopped in on Thursday. I agree, nothing special.
I hate it when store's put clearance games in bins. They have two bins with games as low as $4.99, but it'd probably take someone a good 1/2 hour to thoroughly dig through both of them. Not worth it though. I doubt there's anything of value in there.
I give up on CC. Like I've read elsewhere, there probably won't be any good deals until the last few weeks, and by then everything will probably be gone.

It's a sad time for Madison gamers. CC was the place to get cheap games. Over the years I picked up probably 100 or so $16.96 (or less) clearance games. I'll miss that monthly CC clearance list here at CAG.

They're OK. It seems the big box stores (Target, Walmart and Best Buy specifically) have been blowing out TV season DVD sets like crazy recently.
Even so, I've picked up quite a few used sets at PrePlayed (West) over the years. Mainly the Adult Swim shows which are usually cheaper than buying them new. Stuff like Simpsons or Family Guy are way overpriced at PrePlayed IMO (usually $29.99 per season). You're better off waiting for sales at the big box stores (and they're new).

Any of you guys buying the cheapo 75% off (85%w/edge) gameboy original & color games from Gamestop? I've drove out to almost all the stores in the Milwaukee metro area and bought a few stores out that had low stock. I know that the Gamestop by the intersection of Pt. Washington Rd & Brown Deer Rd (Bayside) still has 2 pages worth. Mostly kiddie\Disney games though.
I have rental property up in Sheboygan I manage so I may drop by the Sheboygan & Sheboygan Falls locations and see if they have anything.

In the LaCrosse Walmart (i.e. southside) the area that must have used to contain the EA Sports games was filled with $10 games. The only ones I remember were:

Green bay CC was a bust today. most games were gone, only the crappiest titles left at 40%, but still not worth it at all. West side target did have mercs 2 (PS3) for 9.98. i'd say about like 5 copies left.
Dont bother with Kmart @ East Town Mall, game selection was horrible. GB games has prices on games [for those who dont know] that are about 3-5 dollars cheaper than Amazon on shipped games. Recently picked up Lenneth & Radiant Dawn there for 18.99 each.
Preplayed also has some okay stuff, I think I saw FE there for 28.99? Not too bad, didn't pick it up though.
Blockbuster East has Super Mario Galaxy (3 copies last time I checked) for 25 each if anyone wants them, very bad PS2 selection though. And Hollywood Video's bargain bin (The one by where the old best buy is, and where linen's & things was) had a lot of 3.99 PS2/GC/Xbox games. I got Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, MP: Echoes, Kirbys Air Ride and a few others there.
Hmm anything else I can think of? Nope :)

What area does this hoarder cover? DO you know? I hate that type of sh1t....I never ever considered buying more than one copy of clearance items...and if i did buy, it was for me...not to sell on Ebay....and i've been scouring targets for like 6 years since i was in college in WhitewaTER and would go to Farmertown Janesville Targets.....
wait....flashback....I guess i was a hoarder once....back in the day when animal crossing was out, target had a bundle that came with the game and a memory card....bigger than the memory card that came with the game. I remember I saw it on clearance and wanted that game, but didn't want to spend $29.xx on it...even on clearance and with the xtra memory card. Then i checked ebay and saw what they were going for and went back and bought all five bundles and seperated them and sold them......was able to keep one animal crossing and a memory card that was paid for by selling th rest...
but those days are long gone......
I hate hoarders.....and hiders. Where could you possibly hide some games and not look suspiscious, or expect it to be there in a week??? I worked at New Berlin Target for a year and with zoning every night, clearance items would end up back where they belong....

I have no clue on how far this hoarder goes for games I just know that mainly the NW Side,Menomonee Falls, brookfield and Pewaukee GC are usually cleaned out of anything real fast... I found this guy on ebay looking for games and came across him and he is in the menomonee falls area and granted his games are not priced to high but he lists them in a different catagory so he gets away with like $6.50 shipping and he ships media mail

I contacted this guy on several occasions asking if I bought a bunch of games and added like $10 extra would he meet or could I come pick up but he refuses and said full shipping on everything also no combined.. what a fuck tard im not paying way over inflated shipping for an item located at most 10 mins north of where I live.....
But pretty much I know buy his selection that he gets a healthy restocking on games from target's clearance and Kmart as well.. I could almost bet as well that hes a lurker around here as well.,,

Man, that suck....i have noticed that I haven't seen too many "steals" below the 30% mark. Though I usually just do Waukesha and New Berlin Target. Wal-Mart suck and so does Kmart as far as GC.
that guy is total turd...doesn't he have a job?
It's like at Goodwill, I use to hit the Jackpot all the time for old NES games, now all the ee's snatch everything up before it hits the floor, and if they don't get it in time....I actually saw an employee ask this chick that worked there also to grab the NES off those wheeled carts and she snuck it to the back room....
I suppose if I worked there I would do the same....

No. They ring up at regular price. Still, if you buy them now you can bring in your receipt on Sunday and have the prices adjusted to $10 each. That way you can guarantee picking up the titles you want rather than sorting through the leftovers.

Thats alright the game or two im looking to snag are not going to be the popular ones to grab seeing they are normally like $20-30 so theres not a huge re-sell potential which will probably cause them to be looked over..
Unless of course some scumbag just walks in and grabs anything and everything with a yellow round sticker...

I hit up the Racine Best Buy this morning, along with the Wal-Mart.
Best Buy did not have a lot for their $10 sale. No Silent Hill, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human, Pure, Soul Calibur, or 007 for 360. Their selection was pretty limited, and there was a decent crowd there, so if you didn't get there this morning, don't expect much to be left this afternoon.
Wal-Mart PM'd Pure and Devil May Cry 4 for me though, although they were a little hesitant.

I checked out the game section to see what they had left. It was absolutely destroyed. They only had copies of the complete shit games that you would expect to be there. I was there yesterday morning. Got there about 2 minutes after 10am and grabbed Rock Band and the last copy of Soul Calibur IV...the two games I had gone for. I went back and forth on 007, but ended up not getting it (not a Bond fan at all). I also picked up Blitz II at Target a couple days before for the same price (clearance!), though I probably should have waited until yesterday to get it at BBY, just for the RZ points. Oh well.

Walmart (West Madison) has all the games shown in the Best Buy ad for $9.99. No price match necessary. They automatically ring up $9.99. Nobody seems to know this (or care) because they have plenty of copies of everything (easily 8-10 copies of Pure for example). Minus one Red Alert 3 after I left.

the Kenosha BB ran out of Pure a week before the sale started. I was keeping an eye on them (had no money at the time but wanted it). Just ended up getting a pm at Wal-Mart. Still wish I was able to find Operation Darkness, Blitz 2 and Silent Hill but no luck at either the Kenosha or Racine store (hit up the Kenosha store about 20 minutes after they opened and about 1 for the Racine store).

I had Operation Darkness when I had my 360 and the only Game you can compare it to in the "Gameplay" department would be Valkyria Chronicles.
It has very similar play but of course it does not look as good and play as well as Valkyria Chronicles..

The camera sucks, the levels tend to drag on and on and it is a bit standard for strategy RPGS but over all its not a bad game especially for $10. Got anything cool like that for PS3 there? W Madison doesn't :(
If anybody in Madison is still looking for Pure (X360 or PS3) or Infinite Undiscovery for $10, I know for sure that the Wal-Mart in W Madison (off of Gammon) has them. I was there tonight and saw they had Pure and I.U. for X360 labeled $9.99, so I asked about the price-matching for Pure for the PS3 and the guy working electronics made the change in the system b/c it was in the ad (well, at least the X360 version is, and he said it would apply to both). Unfortunately, he couldn't make the change for MLB: The Show 08.

I went to East Wal-Mart this morning. They did not have it marked down automatically, but they did a price match on Pure for 360. Fortunately they had a paper ad there that they consulted. The manager that came over to do the override didn't seem to happy about doing it. He said something like, "Well, as long as they still have it go ahead and do it". Fortunately they didn't ask if Best Buy still had it in stock.
They had several more copies of it left, as well as copies of C&C Red Alert 3, Infinite Undiscovery, and a few Soul Calibur 4 for PS3.

Anyone who is in the Green Bay area, there was about 20 rock revolutions for 360 and PS3 as of Saturday midday at Best Buy. 10 bucks each, heard you could trade them at BBV or something.
Also, at Preplayed I saw Chaos Wars for PS2 for about 25 bucks. Came with box, not sure about instructions. About 10 bucks cheaper than if you'd buy online I think.

Went to the East Madison BBY today and got SR2 CE for PS3 at 50% off. They had a few other PS3 CE's at 50% as well. I don't remember all of 'em, but definitely SR2 (7 left after I purchased mine), BIA:HH, and WWE Smackdown v. Raw. I also saw Facebreaker (not a CE...don't think there is one for this game) for 50% off (making it 9.99), and there were some others, but I was in a hurry, so I didn't have time to check 'em all out. I'm going to indulge in a little shameless self promotion if that's okay (if not, ignore this post):
For anyone in the MADISON area, I'm graduating/moving in a few weeks and need to unload a bunch of furniture and stuff. Some stuff is in my TL (check my signature), most isn't because I can't ship furniture (it's big and heavy). If you're looking to furnish an apartment, shoot me a PM (won't bore everyone with the details here). Futon, desk, bookshelves, LCD monitor, lamps, etc.
EDIT: I'll deliver pretty much anything to Madison area locations.
Thought I'd give the heads up to local MMA nuts. The Racine Gamestop in Regency Point (the one not in the mall) is doing a midnight launch for the UFC game on Monday night.
I was actually surprised to find this out since I know a lot of people whose Gamestops aren't doing a midnight launch. I guess here in Racine we have quite a few people interested in MMA.

I think they had 4 or 5 of them when I was there on Thursday.
My hope is that they'll still be there at the $25 price. It'll be nice to have almost everything wireless for Rock Band/Guitar Hero.

Clearances have dried up around the area lately.
Even targets around here seem to ship out their clearance shit after it gets to around $15, or donate it to your local goodwill. I've seen a lot of target clearance crap in goodwills.

Just found this thread, figured a good place to ask, anyone know of any stores that sell N64 games in Milwaukee besides the CD warehouse/MMX on Brady and the Mega Media XChange on 76th st?

There is a place in Germantown,WI that the guy sells a bunch of retro gaming stuff but he has strange hours. Also you may want to try Record Head on I think 70th and Greenfield Ave.

There's a CD Max that is currently merging with Mega Media XChange in Brookfield on Blue Mound Rd (right next to the Best Buy) that has some N64 games at decent prices.

Walmart on East Capital (The place hope goes to die) had Wii cards (I think 2000 points) on sale for $20, and the Goodwill next door had a mario kart wheel for $15. I have no idea if these are good deals or not, but I figured I'd post them.

You know the name of the place in Germantown? Descent prices, or is it like most of the places that sell old games and he thinks everything is rare so charges out the ass?

Also, the Wii cards were not in the electronics section, they were in the clearance isle by hardware.

2000 Wii points is standard $19.99 from what I've seen. Also, you can find first party wheels anywhere from $11.99 to $9.99. Pretty sure I saw them for $9.99 at Walmart.
Also a little bird told me Gamecrazy may be running buy one get one half off on all used games this week. I'll edit the post if it ends up true tomorrow.
