I'm trying to get the USB connection to work, but nothing comes up. Does anyone know if you have to have XP running (for PC users) in order for it to work? Because I read in the manual that "You can connect to a PC with an operating system that supports the USB mass storage class, such as Windows XP or Mac OS X." I'm running on Windows ME so I'm not sure if that's the problem. When I initially tried the USB connection thing my computer came up with "files not found" type of error messages. So I'm not sure if I need to setup something different in my computer or what, because everything else connected to my computer's USB ports work fine. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Have you had any problems with that specific cable? Have you tried USB with that PC in any other situation. Try using other peripherals that have USB and see if they work. It's either the PC or the PSP or the cable. If absolutely nothing works...I can tell you that ME sucks. I was a big defender of ME and how it wasn't half bad, etc. After switching OS, yeah ME was my problem, not my PC. If you can, ditch the PC and just buy a new one. lol...your PSP just cost you close to $1000 total. Bam!

DOH! I actually have an XP start up CD, but it says it's for use with a new computer, so I think I might have to reformat my harddrive and then install it. BTW rvdrock that sig is pretty 8-).

I dont know what to tell you. I'd hold off on buying XP if you're gonna do it the legal way. Wait till vista comes out. Looks purdy.

Here's a dumb question, but you ARE turning on USB mode, right?

No it doesn't. I have hooked up my PSP to a computer running Windows 98. If I can do it on that, I'm sure there is a way to do it on ME. Even though ME is terrible. ;)

Yeah, zewone is right. My wife's sister and her boyfriend came over today (4 my b-day) and he found the file it needed to read the connection. He's a computer tech guy so he knew where to go and what to do. So everything is working fine now. Thanks to those who gave input.

A little off subject, but would you guys recommend getting XP, and should M$ be lowering the cost of XP; or, should I pick up Vista when it comes out?
