Insight into MGS3

OK all, I picked this game up this weekend and have been playing a little. but I need help. I've more or less gotten my ass handed to me in that part right before you meet up with Solokov (sp?) by the soldiers.

Is there any easy way to locate these guys? I sneak up on one only to be spotted by another no matter how much time I survey the area. I use my Motion Detector and still I end up having reinforcements come to play. I finally just ran around killing all the guys until I could get to Solokov. I've just gotten to the scene where you meet up with the Boss the second time (she's on the horse) and know that if I don't figure out how to NOT get killed this game is going to suck for me (which I don't want since the story, even so far, is very good).

Please help a fellow gamer from his own ignorace.

Is that part you're talking about right after you cross the bridge? The sort of rundown building where the captive is being held?

You just have to take your time in that area. The underbrush gives you enough cover and when one of the guards outside moves away, you can find your way underneath the building itself and sneak to the door undetected.

Yeah, that was the part I was having issues with. Maybe I'm just trying to get all the guards and take 'em out (which I have to remind myself I don't NEED to do). I'll play with more caution.

BTW, if you follow the building's right side (facing where you enter the area), there's a ladder that goes up to the roof. You can crawl on that roof without the guards seeing you and you can time your movements and plan it out better that way. You should be able to go left and come down to where there's some storage boxes and sneak your way to the door. There are some supplies in the crawlspace under the building though and some food you can capture. And if you can, explore the building as well as you can. There are some goodies you can find elsewhere.

Anyway, I recommend watching the horizontally patrolling guard, left to right, infront of the buildings. When he's to the right, kill or stun the guard at the top left, sneak under the building and you have it from there.
