buy batallion wars now or wait?

What do you guys think? I want this game but I'm not sure if the price will go down really quickly and I will just end up being pissed I didn't wait. On the other hand, this game seems like it might become hard to find thus staying at 50, what are your feelings on this?

The shipping is about $7. If you can get to a Fry's it will probably be $34.99 in store. Since they don't charge shipping there they obviously can afford to sell them that cheaply. They've been selling just about every new release at that price recently - maybe it is a loss leader to get you in to buy other stuff. Whatever, in any case, that doesn't work on us cheap-asses.

I ordered Disgaea at Outpost for $34.99 - cost me $42.20, but I got it on Weds after ordering it Friday - and that was Labor Day weekend. In this case the game was $49.99 in store, so I saved a bit that way. So pretty fast shipping - I did go for 2-day since it was less than $1 over ground shipping. I have heard Outpost can be a bit slow shipping preorders.

I already have Battallion Wars preordered at Gamerush for $30 ($15 out of pocket with my GR credit). Can't wait to pick it up (which is YMMV at GR - hopefully by Friday).

I pre-ordered Mario Baseball for $34.99 plus shipping from them, and got it in two or three days.

I pre-ordered Advance Wars DS on 8/15, and it's still unavailable. I just cancelled my order today, as a matter of fact, after a customer service rep told me that they have no ETA.

Go for a DS and Advance Wars: Dual Strike instead if you love AW 2... Battalion Wars seems to be alot different.

Yes, Battalion Wars is a real-time strategy game where you control groups of units and can also take control of individual units (and drive tanks, fly, etc). Pretty much an entirely different game from AW, though it sounds from the reviews I've read, anyway, that it is a very good one.

I'd say get it. If you loved AWars, this started out as Advance wars afterall, you'll like this. Especially with the high reviews. If you are a strategy buff though who hates real time action. I'd say no. But from all the reviews i've read i'll drop $30 to get this asap. Need to study for my college classes be damned.

In case you haven't noticed, GI is the only magazine to give it less than an 8 so far. Gamespot gave it an 8.3, and IGN gave it an 8.8 (I believe). GI also isn't too trustworthy as they gave Bloodrayne 2 a 9... and they also gave Radiata Stories, a game getting mixed reviews around 7, a 9.25 and named it Game of the Month, so they have different tastes than a lot of gamers. I would say to rent it first, but I'm definitely buying! I'm getting this, Rainbow Six: Lockdown, and Radiata Stories, with my Buy 2 Used Games Get 1 Free coupon from GameStop. Also, does anyone know where this coupon is located, in what issue? I looked through issue 149 and 150 and it was nowhere to be seen. Do you think someone took it out before I got it? Or is it on a certain page and I'm just missing it? If they stole it out of the magazine I'm going to be ANGRYYY!! That's the main reason I bought the magazine! -.-

Game informer? You might make your decisions based off that, but i wouldnt pay 5.50 for a years worth of their opinions.

Game informer. Pretty sure there last on the credibility scale. I have yet to see any real place give it less then an 8 out of 10. That and I loved Pikmin, been an RTS since Dune 2, and Warcraft on the PC, and love what little i've seen of the in game cut scenes from IGN's video page. Here's hoping Battalion Wars becomes a regular series. If this game gets regular installments that would be killer. This could seriously turn into a great franchise for the big N.

Mixed? I've only seen two reviews from Gamespot and IGN and both gave it over an 8. Who has given it a poor review besides game Informer?

Game Informer doesn't count. I did subscribe to them at one time, I don't bother anymore.

And anyone who bases their buying decisions off of magazines/websites, is weird. I'd rather base my decision on:
A. Does the game look fun?
B. What do people who visit any ol' message board think?

Remember when GI gave a lower score on Paper Mario 2 because they think that most people wont like it but it got GOTM on most site and magazine.

According to GameRanking.com, the average score is an 85% out of 4 reviews at time of post. That's really quite good, IMO.
