I have finally seen the great movie, "Sin City", and I want to start reading the books. Does anyone know where I can find the books cheap, or at least the 1st one cheap?

Apparently there is going to be one packaged with the upcoming Special Edition of Sin City, so you may just want to wait and pick that up.

Not the novel, but my local Best Buy was giving out "Special Edition" comics, "A Dame To Kill For".. worth checking out. I grabbed two (two seperate transactions), but both are still sealed up, so I can't comment on what's in it.

It's actually a reprint of this (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sin-City-A-Dame-to-Kill-For-No-1-1993_W0QQitemZ6563227698QQcategoryZ77QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem), so that's cool.

This is the one:

The markup on trade paperbacks is 35%-55%, so it should be pretty easy to find sellers on eBay discounting them.

There's many sellers who routinely sell Marvel trade paperbacks at 40% off cover (markup is usually at least 55%- sometimes more for volume dealers).

I guess some sellers are happing only making 15% on a book, but I guess if you sell hundreds or thousands it makes it worth while.

borders/waldenbooks routinely has 20%-30% off coupons that apply on graphic novels, so you might want to check that out. Amazon also has them on sale for around that price or even less.

From what I've seen on ebay, the price most sellers charge for shipping wipes out any savings from their cheap prices. I was looking for the last few graphic novels of Transmetropolitan and found several sellers that had them cheap, but with shipping they were more than amazon. I either order them from amazon or overstock or wait until borders has their 30% off coupons. If you have a discover card you can get $25 gift cards to borders for $20 with the cashback dollars.

Amazon has a great deal if you are interested in owning the complete sin city set. All 7 softback books for $75 shipped.

If you want just the first book is $11.21 on Amazon.

BTW... Neca did some great figures for Sin City and series 2 is coming out soon. There are some good pictures here....

check local book stores.. waldenbooks has a great selection of graphic novels if you don't live near a good comic book store.. i'd always check a comic book store because sometimes if they really want your business they'll cut you a good deal on them (and if they don't have it they'll tell you exactly where to get it).. but yeah borders/waldenbooks has 20- 40 percent off coupons nearly monthly it seems. but they aren't that expensive (maybe 8 -12 bucks) for the quality that is Frank Miller's books.. i'd pay a lot more.
