The Activision CEO mentions that he expects the current gen games to get price drops just like the previous gen prices were dropped when PS2, GC, and Xbox came out. While nothing big, since many of us were expecting it after it happened a few years ago, it's reassuring to see someone from the industry make this statement.

One thing I found strange from the article is that Activision has 40 Xbox 360 games coming next year! That seems extraordinarily large for just one year, meaning that they'd average three games a month, with a large portion probably coming in the fall. I wonder what all of these games are, as I can't even really point out maybe more than a handful or so that they'd be working on.

Does Activision have enough money to pay the developers of those 40 Xbox 360 games? I thought Xbox 360 games were supposed to cost way more then current games to develop.

I think activision is close to bankruptcy or they are not meeting there finical demands. So they are going all out with the next-gen. Either they are going to hit it big or miss it and go down like acclaim.

Before the Tony Hawk series, I could never really distinguish activision and acclaim. I guess that's about to continue...

They may have 40 games coming to the XBox360, But that doesn't mean they are real Xbox360 games. Most likely your going to see the same thing that happen with the PS2 and about 2/3 (or more) of the games will just be previous gen game with the new gen logo pasted on it

Wonder what that xbox will drop to, although, I suppose it'd be kinda hard for me to justify getting one with so many unplayed gc and ps2 games in my collection.

He's referring to GCN, xbox, and ps2 games, although the systems will fall in price too, i believe.

Used XBox systems are now $99.99, but since they've stopped production on the XBox and started production on the 360, I seriously doubt there will be another price drop on a new XBox system..

With a market capitalization of $4 billion, only the second gaming company in the U.S. with gross revenues of over $1 billion annually and a EPS of .71 I think your speculation is misinformed, ignorant and just plain message board worthy stupid.
