Got some games pre played from Gamefly.com

Alls i can say is... if you're a picky collector looking for pristine books and cases for a a cheapass price....

this is the place to do it.

the discs are the only things sent out for rental in the mail...
so cases and books are kept untouched in their offices... leaving you the option to buy the game preplayed... and they send you everything in perfect shape.

i've ordered three times so far... and now i can offcially say... its a great service if they got what you need.

check it out.

also... i grabbed the craptacular P.N. 03 for the cube (very much a collector here) from them for 12.99 preplayed... basically untouched packaging.

They don't take money orders though, that's the only reason I haven't ordered from them yet.

Gotta love Gamefly, well I do...I have rented a few games from there and bought a game (I wont say which one, as to avoid flames), but I agree as far as pre-played games go, it does not get any better than Gamefly.

So I finally got a chance to check out Gamefly and well.... I'm sure the condition of the cases and instructions is great and all, but the prices are nothing to call home about. THe prices are all pretty similar to EB, but in most cases Gamefly is more expensive by a couple bucks. Actually in many cases, Gamefly's prices of used games was the same as EB's prices for new games or even worse! ( I checked about 50 titles, mainly PS2)

But a good note for Gamefly: They have a good selection of used games, and I myself will admit the importance of a good case and book. I also did find that they were cheaper in certain cases (albeit only a few).

I would recommend trying Gamefly along with all the other used games sites. Just keep in mind that you're on a computer and it only takes a couple key strokes to shop around and check out other sites.

I get what you are saying, but what sets Gamefly apart from EB in that respect in their return policy. I spoke to a Gamefly representative before I bought my first game from them and he informed me that if the game ever became defective or non playable, that they would refund my money. I said is there a time limit on this, he said no, could be a year from now. Also, I think Gamefly's used games are in much better condition, no scratches or anything, almost brand new. So I would buy from Gamefly used before anywhere else, but thats just me. Oh and another thing, if you happen to be one of the first people to rent a game right after it comes out, you are the first rental which means you get a brand new game that within 2 weeks will be marked down to at least 10 dollars below the retail price. Example: I rented Fight Night and I was the only owner and I could have bought it for 40, but I choose not to. Just look around the site, some of the new games are already $40 instead of $50. But thats just my opinion.

I find that 'policy' to be VERY suspect. That's begging to be abused if it's true.

Hey dude... don't knock P.N. 03 without trying it. It's actually a pretty cool, intense game if you come to it on its terms, instead of expecting your own erroneous preconceptions to be met.

I am very aware that someone would point that out, but considered how great the service is, I would not abuse it. Basically, if there is a game I want to buy, I rent it from Gamefly first and play it for a bit. If I see the game has replay value or will take a while to complete, I may just buy it. The only reason I will ever return a game to them, is if it will not play, otherwise I am content with my purchase. But I am sure they are people abusing this policy.

What makes it suspicious is that you could buy a game from them, then it could become unplayable due to the customer's negligence. If they really give you what amounts to a year's warranty on the game, I don't see any checks on the consumer. I'm wondering if perhaps the person you spoke with was just being a little over-enthusiastic.

gamefly has great prices on games that just came out. If you are looking for stuff thats been out a while its probably not the best place to look, but I have seen several good deals on stuff from there

From their website...

All Pre-Played game purchases are final. However, if you have any problems with your game, send it back to us and we will issue a refund.

It leaves it very open on wether they will refund or not.[/quote]
