All I can say is wow - THIS is how sequels should be: keep the gameplay that made the first a hit and expand on it. When you think about how much larger the environments are and how varied they are, it's amazing. Katamari Swing is stuck in my head in terms of the catchy tune for the game. I'm having a hard time only with the bear/cow stage (those of you who played the first game knew how infuriating those stages were - now double it... and make bears and cows EVERYWHERE, and your goal is to get the biggest one you can find, only everything in the stage nearly qualifies as the bear or cow ou need to roll up).

I was the only person to pre-order this at my local Gamestop and I enjoy this very much. Just like the first one.

Even the training stage was fun. I like playing around at the title screen, and the loading screen. The new story pieces are great. For the extra $10 bucks compared to the original, you really are paying for some great production value on top of the great gameplay

This is probably the most polished game I have ever played. Some of the most proffessional stuff I've seen in a while. It seems that Namco has been pushing out the most high quality stuff this past year with this, Tekken 5, and Soul Calibur 3.

I love the manual for this game. Also, did anyone else notice the training level is on the King's head? You have to use royal view to see it but its there.

This game was definitely worth the $30. I haven't played anything else since I got it.

Since we are, in fact, Cheap Ass Gamers...

Is the original worth my twenty dollar bill? I really wanna get it...

If you don't, then send it to me so I can spend it on something worthy of it. ;)

if i only get one of the katamari games, which one do you guys think i should get...based solely on the game itself, not the price..

Here's my take on the sequel:
Pros:
Vast and varied environments
Improved movie scenes and graphics
Camera work is improved
You can pick the music for the stage

Cons:
Music is not as good as the original
It's still very short but makes up with replay value
The stupid people won't shut up.

I'd say you can't go wrong with either. That's the beauty of this game - you pick one, you're set. I don't favor one over the other. I even played the first this morning and then the new one again. I'm obsessed.

I agree about the music, but it grows on oyu after a while. Try Angel Rain on the underwater stage. It's relaxing.

If I can pick up this game, along with a 5 dollar R&C: UYA or Sly 2 at KB...that would rock.

If I like the first one, I might even have to buy the second one. =o

Picked it up on Wednesday. Guys at Gamestop said that I was the only go so far to buy/pick up a copy. So far, it's a great game. Cant wait to try the multiplayer with my bro.

If you hold in O to play music while looking for requests, your cousins will dance and follow you! Well, except Ace, but he's a douche anyways. So cool!

I dont know how some of you are the only people who've picked up or bought a copy from a store. We sold out of our first shipment of them today. (Best Buy)

I picked up a copy at Best Buy today thanks to the $10 off coupon in the (hidden away) RED magazine. I didn't notice it until I'd taken off the plastic wrap and was sliding my fingernail towards the top, but mine didn't have a security seal. The plastic wrap is factory-folded, not shrinkwrap, and the part of the insert protruding out of the plastic isn't torn (which makes me normally anal when buying PS2 games). Has anyone's copy come with a security seal on top?

Mine had no sticker on top

I'll be grabbing this when Toys R Us has their B2G1 free sale. Or later when GS has their B2G1 used sale. If, of course, anyone is foolish enough to trade it in.

I'm lovin' it. I've completed a lot, but there's a lot more work to be done before I get up to these stupid fans' expectations. Anyone else do the sumo one yet? I loved it!
