No, far from worth it.

Matter of fact, I'm still shooting myself over missing yesterday's deal: the same 9100 + a 24 inch widescreen monitor for about 900 shipped (through dell's EPP program).

Keep an eye on Fatwallet...usually when insane deals hit, they're one of the first to post about it.

As for your other question....XP Media Center....think of it as a lazy man's XP install...all convienently controlled from your remote control...BSOD's and all ;)

Not all...seems like there are those random few that got through this round.

Nothing to lose by keeping an eye out for a deal like that though...how's the saying go:

"Even the sun shines on a dog's ass somedays."

I can't blame Dell for cracking down though...but that won't stop the thousands from trying to get in on a cheap ass deal...might as well get in line with them, eh? ;)

dunno if this is possible, but does media center let you use your pc as a TIVO if you connect the pc to the tv, is that possible?

Yeah, it does. I'm not going to comment on how WELL it acts as a Tivo...I don't use MCE, so I'll leave that to someone who does.

Yes, media center is freaking awesome. You HAVE to have a box though. This should come with the computer, but you'd need to check. My uncle has Media Center that came with the cable box free. You just hook the cable box into the cable in your wall and into your computer and you can watch tv and record on it. One gig of ram per half hour i believe for the higher quality. It may be 3 gigs, but Im not sure.

I'm sure he meant hard disk space not ram!
