I want to get one, but first I need to figure out if the HD is compatible with PS2 and HD Loader. I tried checking in this site, but it wouldn't show up.

http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/?p=&v_brand=Maxtor&v_modelnum=L01P100&v_size=&v_rpm=&v_buffersize=&v_fitting=&v_working=&v_version=&v_adaptor=&v_postedby=

I know most Maxtor drives do work, but I want to make sure for certain. Please let me know asap. Thanks.

Even for $50 without the second rebate is still pretty good, no?

why wouldn't you use both rebates?

Again, I'd appreciate if someone can confirm if it'll work with PS2 and HD Loader. I'm thinking of stopping by and buying one of these tommorow.

Picked up the last two at the Office Depot in Manhattan. Tried to use one with my v4 ps2 (modded), but it froze up during formatting, and now freezes up at the splash screen. I haven't given up yet, but no success so far.

are they really out of stock in manhattan now? damn, well thanks, save me a trip down there. apparently that HD should work with the PS2, so good luck with that.

Well, I know I got the last ones on the floor at 41st and Broadway, but it's probably worth calling. When I called ahead, the guy told me they had a lot. Also, I think this is online, too.

And yes, I can confirm that it works with HDLoader. I think the problem I was having before was with the copy of HDLoader I was using; I tried another, and it seems to work alright.

Why would you buy 2? They only let you use one rebate per model... unless you got separate receipts...

One for my computer, and one for my ps2, of course.

Yes, it for sure works with the HD Loader. I got the true HD Loader, (the blue cased one with it's own website), and I use an 80 GB Maxtor with my PS2. I love this thing. Does anyone know if Radiata Stories or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction can be loaded to the HD using the Loader? The...uh... load times in Hulk are extremely long... *cough*... WHAT?!

Both games work. So this 100 GB HD definetely works then?

YESSSSS! Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Radiata Stories for $13.98. It's this expensive because BlockBuster now charges $7.99 for a game rental, and Radiata Stories isn't carried at my Hollywood Video, but Hulk is so it's only $5.99 for that. :D

I've been debating picking up one of these. Granted, for $20 AR there might not be any left at my local store now, but I guess I'll stop by to check anyway. I own both HD Loader and HD Advance and have been happy with both.

I was going to hold out for a good deal on a 200 GB HDD, but I'm probably not going to find one of these new for $40 anytime soon. A 100 GB HDD for $20 doesn't offer nearly as much storage space, but the cost savings of this deal simply can't be denied.

Don't forget you're actually getting a 120gig hard drive (as long as you remember to get the one with the green sticker). Also, I should clarify that the ones I picked up are 120gb, so technically I'm not sure whether the 100gb one works with HDLoader.

I got mine today, and it was also 120GB, surprisingly. And yes, it does work with HD Loader. I'm almost tempted to get two. :)

Hey all. I am a first time newbie with the entire HD Loader and HD Advance thing. I believe I downloaded one of them from bittorrent. Can't I just download both of the programs? The other thing is that if I get HD Loader and Advance, do I need a mod chip or will it just play? Any help will be appreciated.

amon: you need a disk for HD Loader to work or you can flash it to your mem card if you know how to do it. No mod chip is required.

I was pleasantly surprised as I visited my local Office Depot store yesterday. Not only did they still have plenty of the "sale" drives in stock (not really a sale, but with rebates...) but it also appears that all of them included the green sticker bonus 20 GB capacity.

It doesn't seem right that a deal like this would go unnoticed, but then again, I did have to shell out the full $99.99 retail price (plus tax) for it upfront. Here's hoping the rebate center doesn't play hardball with their checks.

By disk do you mean cd? Can't I just burn a CD? Is it like a swap mod chip?
