Well I went to Target for Markdown Monday (yesterday) I got a 2 Spools of 20 TDK DVD-R's for 13.50 they had some good deals on tdk CD-R's also I think there were like 5.00... They Also had MK: D for the Gamecube for 10.42 . YMMV

But the DAMN! part my friend has been wating to see if they would go Any lower on Metriod Zero Mission it was 14.95 well they were in the middle of marking down when we got there so we hung out for a few went back to the GBA games that were on mark down they were gone.. So he asked one of the nice red shirts there what happend he said oh yeah when we get to 90% we send it to the goodwill. I'm all for giving to charity but damn so my friend asked "well can I buy one" Reply "yeah but only at the last markdown price not the 90%" "Well why not your just giving it away might as well make something right"
"no the tax wright off is to big" .Come to find out the Goodwill gets the truck from Target on Friday so I may go take a look, but damn the goodwill in my area are assholes everyone there "takes" the good stuff to resell on ebay or trade in @ gs or eb. Oh well just kind of a rant

Everyone knows Target gives stuff to Goodwill.

So let me get this straight. You're mad because Target takes items you could have bought many weeks ago and gives them to Goodwill because they won't sell and uses the tax write-off to make up for some of the lost income on games you've already gotten good deals on during clearances. Goodwill then turns around and sells them so they can use the money to help the homeless.

Oh, but fuck the homeless, because you know...as long as you get your Metroid Zero Mission FO CHEAP that's all that matters.

WOW! First I did not know that Target did that so Thanks for letting me know..
2nd I do care about the homeless I have given my Time Money and old clothing of mine my sons and my wife's to LOCAL charities that I know for a fact give back to MY community . If you would have read my post before going off on that tanget you would know that I said my local goodwill is full of people who steal insted of selling to make money for the homeless. They make money for them selfs I know this becuse of the LOCAL work I have done for charities my area. My area of VA dose not have a lot of homeless but there are a fair amount of poor so the goodwill gives what it makes back to the goodwill on a national leval not local I want to help my town not yours.. But thanks I'm an ass !!!!

We can't understand you either. I'm sure that a homeless man can really use that Metroid. Are you saying that you think that the money made on a sale from Goodwill goes to the homeless? I think you need to do some research on Goodwill and see where the money goes before you bitch at the OP for asking a valid question.

The money that's made from the goodwill go to help the less fortunate. If you have information proving otherwise, do tell.

I think the complaint is that the workers hoard the good things. I know that is an issue at my Goodwill.

they don't give them to goodwill, they sell them to goodwill at a dramatically reduced price.

and 90 percent of goodwills profits go to paying employee salaries, the rest is split between helping people and paying utilities (something like 6 percent for utilities and 4 percent for helping the homeless)

wow...

If someone is working at good will, the least they deserve is to go through incoming products to see if there is anyhting they want to purchase with their own money. Come on they work at the damn good will.... their life sucks enough, let them get a GBA game for a few buck once in awhile...

My point was they dont pay for them.. And the people who sort are volunteers who are at drop off points. Who in turn resell at the Dirt mall

I'd say it's still broken and you seem to have a problem with homonyms.

what is up with this grammar correction on the internet anyway? If you have to scrutinize someone's grammar or spelling as a "comeback," then just leave...

Well, there's a difference between scrutinizing someone's grammar and the fact that I REALLY could not read what he wrote. It was a garbled mixture of engrish/ebonics/bad grammar/punctuation/english. It was bad, really bad.

I've never, ever seen a new game or any other clearance item from target make it to the Goodwill or Salvation Army shelf. You bet your ass those employees are skimming the 'good' stuff for personal gain and/or resale on Ebay.

In fact, I know a woman who works at the local Salvation army who has her boyfriend steal items in broad daylight. He just loads anything of value into his pickup truck from the donation pile and drives off when it's full. Then this woman has the nerve to have 3-4 garage sales during the spring summer and fall to make a profit on the pilfered items. If you hang around the local thrift shops long enough, you'll spot the ones who are doing it. It's a big racket, very big.

I frequently see games at my Goodwill (and tons of other stuff from Target) . . . the only problem is that GW will sell them for $10 . . . and I want $5 games :-)

I did score a pair of returned Logitech wireless controllers for PS2 and Xbox ($10 and $15) and they work great.

The bad thing is that Target doesn't let stuff linger.

The Atari Flashback never broke under $10 as I wanted . . . GW and Salvation Army both had them for $10.

No, it really was that bad. I can't make it through the first sentence of the second paragraph.

I found a 120 piece nicorette starter kit at my goodwill last week for $10. The price tag from target was still on $29.99. Last year I got my gamecube with 2 games there also from target.

The homeless should stop doing drugs and pissing away all their money and get a job. What the hell is Johnny McCrackAddict going to do with a copy of Metroid besides pawn it for more drugs?
