According to the latest article on IGN, it looks as though Perfect Dark Zero might not be available on day one.

Lastly, we've learned that Perfect Dark Zero is not concretely set to launch day and date with Xbox 360. In other words, it's doubtful as a day one launch title. Expect to see it in 2005, and most probably before Christmas, but not day one.

The article does confirm that there will be online 2 player co-op though.

With all the advertising for PDZ, I really thought for sure it was going to make it for launch. I guess a couple of extra weeks won't kill me if it gets pushed back though.

This is the 360 game I am looking forward to the most. I probably won't have the system until Christmas anyway, so this doesn't bother me. I'm sure others won't be so pleased.

The launch window is the first 60 days (or so) according to most web sites and companys. It still a launch title as far as they are concerned

It's not surprising with Rare, but I certainly didn't expect it with the way Microsoft basically forced Bungie to get Halo out the door for the launch of Xbox. This looks to be the one game that they are actively advertising. They are practically holding it up in the air and saying, "Look what we've got". I'm still hoping it makes launch because this game is the system seller for a lot of early adopters.

Didn't Halo release during the 60 days after the actual Xbox released?

Halo was available day one. I got my Xbox on launch with Halo, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, and Tony Hawk 2X.

If it makes it by the end of 2005, it'll be all good. I doubt most people will the minor wait. At least it wasn't pushed back for 6 months or something.:)

Ah. I couldn't remember. I bought my Xbox the day Splinter Cell released.

And online co-op for Perfect Dark Zero? Hell yeah!

I've known this for a bit and I think it's great news. Since I'm on the second shipment on 360's, I will get it a few weeks later which will hopefully be around the time in which PDZ is released.

Hopefully the delay will be to our benefit, I would really hate it if this game tanked

you can tell how far a game is along buy looking at the material that is realeased for the game. And what i mean is, go to gamespy.com or gamespot.com and look at Perfect Dark, It was no in game screen shots. Just concept art. If the games near completion they flood the market with images to get people excited. Being there is NOTHING, im guessing that it wont be for a while...

I'd rather wait for a good version than a rushed one. I hope they still have split screen co-op. Anyone know?

What the hell are you talking about? No in game screen shots? Did you miss the multiple images available on IGN as well as the (rough) footage of the actual gameplay videos? Just concept art my a$$.

This would not be such a bad thing if was held back by a month or months.
To many games I want on opening day anyway.

Wow. one site. Way to really prove your theory, Turing. Maybe one day when you graduate middle school, you and the other children will realize that there are more sites out there than "gamespot" to get information from.

Not having Perfect Dark Zero out the same day as the Xbox 360 would be a very bad move. With no Halo in site, Microsoft needs a FPS that will move systems.

Day 1, homey. Plus, it's on everyone's "Top Games of X05" list. Ryan McDonald from GameSpot said it turned him into an Xbox 360 pre-orderer, and both IGN X05 attendees loved it. Cake.

Call of Duty isn't an exclusive. Do you think that the Xbox 1 would have done so well on day one if Halo also came out on the PC that day?

im glad its being pushed back cause im not getting an xbox 360 yet and it will give them time to polish the game instead of rushing it I bet half the launch games will be garbage due to rushing.

I've waited waaay too long for this sequel. I actually wouldn't mind if they had just given the original game some online multiplayer and a graphics boost. I hope this doesn't suck because it has a lot to live up to.

The main appeal for any console FPS for me is co-op mode. Otherwise i'd be better off playing FPS with keyboard and mouse on PC.

I'll ask again for anyone that's heard anything new:

Does PDZ offer split screen co-op like the original?

Uh, it's not getting pushed back. It's a Day 1 launch title, bruther.

And as for PDZ co-op play, I believe the only thing confirmed so far is Online Co-Op mode over Xbox Live or Full Screen System Link.

DOEH, I hope they have split screen, but oh well.

I must say I was skeptical at first from jsut the screenshots, but curiosity got me so I checked out the videos and Wow. This game seems like a winner. The music playing and the active environments/lighting. It's crazy
