This game will sell well just by name recognition alone. But it should be interesting to see how they revamped the battle system and what new classes they added.

They use to not have it listed on their website and you had to call them to order it, but they charged $40 shipped.

This is definitely sweet news. I've just got to finish Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, and about 50 other RPGs before I get to start this one.

I do. A game should never cost more than it originally came out for (but that's just me).

Why not - if they're not going to reprint it, might as well get some bonus sales out of the next one on it.

Good news, it seems that Disgaea 2 is confirmed for an American release in August 2006.

I'm about two hours into phantom brave and it aint appealing to me. I'm gonna try a 4 hour or so straight play through to see if it hooks me. Before I write it off

I agree. It's the worst of the bunch to me, but I'm about 13 hrs into it, so I'll finish it.

Just read the preview in the latest Game Informer. Looks pretty cool. I should get a hold of the original one at some point.

I found a copy of Disgaea at a local game store the other day, so I can't wait to play it (it came with mint-condition instructions and packaging, but a slightly scratched disc). I hope it plays, it looks fun and ridiculously time-consuming. I'll probably still be playing it when the sequel comes out in about a year.
As for the guy who thinks that games should never cost above their original value, I'm totally with you, dude -- speaking as a broke gamer who wants to play rare games without going into debt. But I doubt you would find much agreement with the sellers on here who sell rare games as a hobby (or a living), and definitely not with the guy who is selling Gitaroo Man online for $700 (and will probably get it).

Glee!
Sorry. I loved the first game so much that I have to post in this thread again.
... Is it sad that this is more exciting to me than reading about any of the up and coming next gen systems?
