If there's already a topic about it, lock this 'un up.

Anyhow, I gave it a little go and I must say I'm pretty impressed thus far. It has the feel of a traditional(read: turn-based) RPG with "purty" graphics (including a wide spectrum of emotions for the characters) in addition to decent voice-acting(one of your party members is cockney. That has has to be sweet) and a quick learning curve. I'm a bit concerned about some of the generic quests that are presented in the demo, but then again, it's a demo. I give it a tentative "thumbs-up", even though I'm not a fan of the DBZ -esque character design. Anyone else try it and have some thoughts?

you know we got these demo's in and i instantly was popping it in the ps2, first off i have to say that within the first 10 mins i was BORED out of my mind. So i decided well maybe the story is just hard to pick up where their at, i'll try the fighting. It sucks IMO, but i guess i never enjoyed the DQ games, i tried the one for PS one and hated it too. Squeenix has pretty much lost there stuff anyway. Check out Xseed for the next batch of amazing games

The last rpg I played was more fun than this demo, and I didn't even understand the language it was in. (Grandia III, in Japanese). That said, this game may end up being charming. The voice acting was better than I thought, mostly overacted, which imho is better than monotone voices reading cue cards.

The return of random battles (the most recent rpgs I've played had enemies visible on screen, even if you couldn't really avoid them) wasn't welcome. I probably won't pick it up, and the pack-in of the FF XII demo with the retail version gives me another reason to avoid it :)
