Thanks all.
System Bought :)
I know it's an early question.
I have $80 (Store Credit and Gift Cert) that can be used at EB.
Wondering if good time to buy Gamecube or should I wait till Black Friday and perhaps score a free game or some other bonus.
Any Thoughts?
Was there a good deal last year?
Anyone bought a preplayed Gamecube from EB?

Honestly, as long as it'll play GBx software, I'm waiting for the Revolution since it'll play all the GC games. But I'd be getting one anyway, so for me a cube would be a waste of money at this moment.

Go buy it, it's a great system and for the money, you're not going to find a better console for a long time.

Most of the good games are cheap now anyway for GC. I'd pick it up now, it's probably not going to get much cheaper, and it's a good system. The Revolution won't be here for awhile anyway, plus it'll be really expensive on launch.

Have already began gathering some of the games.
Found at Goodwill Sealed
FF:CC $4.99
007 EON $4.99
PoP:WW $4.99
Trading for Zelda: Windwalker and Eternal Darkness.
Working on another trade for Metroid Prime/Wavebird Bundle.
I figured $20 out of pocket for the SSBM Bundle is a good deal.
Most of the credit came from trading in some old ps2 games with their $5 extra deal.

I guess it depends on if you have enough games to play until black friday.
I bought the GC for $199. It was the cheapest system to buy in 2001.

Funny, I already have more games than I'll ever have time to play.
Married, Three teenage boys, all with seperate activities.
Just bought a GBA SP so I can have some game time waiting on them at their activities.

Well... to answer one of your questions buying a used GC can be hit or miss.
I used to manage an EBGames and some of the systems we took in, while technically "working", left a lot to be desired in terms of overall cosmetic appeal and even potential durability.
Others, however, were PERFECT.
Just be wary of:
a) where you buy one from - try to go to a shop where you trust the employees.
b) the physical condition its in - look for any water damage or major cracks.
c) ANALOG STICKS ON THE CONTROLLER - check them to make sure they're still tight.
And buy the freakin warranty for like $10. It's worth it.

I would def go pick one up now. There are a lot a good games for it and its so cheap its def worth it.
Definitely pick it up. As well as a couple of extra controllers and then go pick up some friends. You can kiss your weekend goodbye. And use Marth!

Id say wait till black friday to see if you can score a great deal, since last year there were a couple of nice deals on gamecube bundles, but if you can't wait, its still a good deal at $100.
If you wait, the best black friday deal might be at EB, but it could also be at another store.

its definitely worth it now, there are a myriad of great games for gcn and while you're at it, get some controllers, cause even though ssbm might be fun single player, its obviously better multiplayer, then when revolution has a set release date, sell the gcn ASAP so you can still get a decent price for it to put down on the revolution, then wait for the revolution, it will be worth it

I'm leaning towards waiting as I do have a stack of games yet to play on the PS2/PSX.
Need to find a Cheap LCD so I can play while the kids are too :)

Waiting is for sissys. It's not getting materially cheaper any time soon or ever. I would hate to think you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and all this time you could have been playing the best system of all time.

...all this time you could have been playing the best system of all time.
This is open to debate, of course. Some would say SNES holds that title, others Psone. :D

I could be wrong, but I can't remember ever seeing a deal at EB even during Black Friday... I'd grab it now.

Should've waited for the one day only Halloween "Spooktacular Sale" at EB since they're gonna have a GC bundle of:
Black Cube
2 Wavebirds (white)
RE4
Haunted Mansion
Luigi's Mansion
...for $49.99.
Geez, you missed out :D

Damn. I knew I should have waited.
Since I only spent $23 out of pocket for the bundle,
FREE would have been about the only reason to wait.

It was a joke, dummy. And of course the best system ever is clearly the SNES (FF3? Chrono Trigger? Street Fighter 2? Mortal Kombat 2? HELLOO?!) :D

I figure the Revolution is a year away, and its already cheap for a Gamecube, so I'd say to go ahead and buy it.

I didn't think a lot of people where going to fall for that one...guess I was wrong :) But yes, that would be too good of a deal to be true.

Yep, at the time....a gift for me.....determined I was going to like everything you do. And what was it you were going to try for me?? What was I shoving down your throat?? Oh yeah, I was dumb enough to change for you. You're the one who couldn't budge. It's a shame you're such an:booty:
