Does the connection to play wireless xbl come with the 360 premium pack? If not anyone know if it is a usb connection so that in theory my usb adapter with my router will work with my 360?

Does not come with the premium pack..
You would more than likely just need a wireless bridge. X360 should have an ethernet port on it. (it does)...
so no real need to get the usb wirless adaptor - unless you really want to.

Im still confused. How would the ethernet port allow for the 360 to wirelessly connect to a network?
Edit: i already have a usb wireless adaptor. It should work with the 360 right?

The wireless adapter connects to the xbox via ethernet cable so, Wireless adapter-wire-xbox360. If you get what I mean.

The wireless adapter that Microsoft will sell is USB ..

Microsoft's wireless adapter is a USB 2.0 connecting 802.11A/B/G wireles adapter.
You can use a wireless bridge to the 360's Ethernet port, like you'd do with the current Xbox. It bridges the Ethernet network on the Ethernet port to the wireless network from the bridge.

So my regular linksys 802.11b adapter would not work with the usb port on 360 i have to set up a wireless bridge to 360 ethernet port. I am a newbie extreme when it comes to stuff like this so if i sound stupid please don't get mad.

Let's sum this up easily.
If you're currently wirelessly gaming with your Xbox now? Nothing will change. You won't need additional hardware. You already have a wireless bridge necessary to play. Pull the plug out of the back of your current Xbox, put it in the 360.

Microsoft would be very unlikely to make any wireless adapters other than their own work with the 360. Lost revenue.
As PAD says above, anyone that is using a wireless game adapter or wireless bridge to hook up their current Xbox to their wireless network, nothing changes.
If you're buying the 360 and want to add it into your wireless LAN directly, you'd either need the game adapter / bridge (one or the other) or the wireless adapter. Microsoft's would be the only adapter at $99.

This would be a good option? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16873999102&ATT=Video+Game+Consoles+&CMP=OTC-17exta6
I'm hesitant to buy another Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter because those require the installation of drivers on PC's/Notebooks and it's likely that there will be some issues on the XBOX360.

Ok stupid question but just want to be sure. I have a Linksys gaming adaptor for my Xbox. So this thing should work with my 360?

That one is ok. It supports 802.11g speeds but not wpa encryption, only wep so keep that in mind if you have a g network and wpa encryption.

Any of the linksys ones should work fine. I have the b adapter and plan on using that when I get a 360.

Yes. It will still work. If you have an existing wireless setup that you're using for your Xbox you just pull the ethernet cable connecting the bridge to your Xbox and put it in the 360.
If you want to keep/use both get a switch, probably around $20, and plug the bridge into the "network" in/out and then wire each console to the switch like a router. With this setup you can only use one console at a time but you would be able to network 4 consoles using the switch and your bridge connection.
Don't let a game store or CC/BB salesperson you need to get the ridiculously overpriced 360 wireless adapter. If you're wirelessly gaming now you will need no additional hardware!

Awesome sweet thanks bro. I know if I would have asked that to a store employee they would have told me I needed the new Xbox 360 Ultra Mega wireless conection. Thanks again.

Don't forget that if you need more than one console on the Internet at the same time, a "game adapter" won't work, unless you swap it back and forth between consoles. A true wireless bridge will support numerous devices, though they cost more.
This is a "game adapter", and works with only one device:

This is a true wireless bridge, and works with more than one device (attach an Ethernet switch for more than one device support):

(comes with integrated 5-port Ethernet switch)
