View Full Version : Halo Character in Dead Or Alive 4?

A Tecmo source at X05 in Amsterdam today confirmed to Game Informer Online that the game that this secret character is from is none other than Halo. This is the first time Team Ninja has gone away from their own stable of characters for the Dead Or Alive series and is using a character from another title. While our Tecmo representative would not say exactly who this character would be, we found out it is not Master Chief. We unfortunately can’t 100% confirm which character will be in Dead Or Alive 4, but we can guarantee it will not be a warthog.
I thought Dead Or Alive had a very specific storyline and entire universe. Seems kind of weird to throw a Halo Character into it.

I'm putting my money on it being Cortana.
After all it IS a DOA game =P
Not sure how They'll tie into the whole game, maybe they will just have them as an unlockable chracter for mult-player mode only.

That would be really strange because she's just a computer construct. They'd have to create a truly physical form for her which would be weird for both Halo's and DOA's storylines. I'm guessing it has to be either an Elite or a Brute. Although it would be fun to fight as one of the Flood Carriers and explode anytime your opponent hit you.

Oughta be Master Chief with AT LEAST his helmet OFF. Best would be him in some sort of light armor, in the same fashion as his Mjollnir armor.
Or yeah, Cortana would be good too. Would be fun to play as 'Chiefy though. Or maybe an Elite...
Yeah this is silly, adding a Halo character to a totally different game universe... but blah, it could be fun... hard not to enjoy Link in Soul Calibur :P

:lol: It'd have two attacks. One, itd roll over the opponent. Instant kill.
Second attack would be to destroy the universe. Just as instant, but with better eye candy.

My first thought was an Elite since they are known to be fighters, Cortana is just too obvious a choice. As for the whole doesn't fit in the stotyline part, DOA has a storyline?! Really it seems like such gibberish that I think throwing an alien in wouldn't matter one bit.

Yeah, there is a storyline. It is more evident in the intro CG for DOA Ultimate.

like I posted in the fighter thread...Cortana or bust. They could do a lot of cool stuff with her to show off lighting effects, blurs, textures, etc.
I just can't see anyone in the Halo universe using martial arts, though.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the explanation for a Halo character in the DOA universe, even if it’s a bit tongue in cheek."
there's a shadow of cortana with the "bouncy bouncy" going on, that might be a clue that it's her. I think she'd be the best fit.

I am digging this. Ever since Soul Calibur II had Link and Spawn, I have loved the idea of another company lending characters for games, especially fighters.
After seeing the Bungie message, if it isn't Cortana I will be dissapointed.

I agree. Just as long as they use the prettier Cortana from Halo 2. An Elite would be a good choice; I've always wondered if the MC and an Elite would ever be featured in SSB, but seeing as it's generally Nintendo-only, it probably won't happen.

I know it's a stretch since I'm not sure if the universes are connected, but what about Konoko from ONI?
Also, if you've read the books, perhaps it's Dr. Halsey (http://halosm.bungie.org/story/halsey.html).
GuilewasNK's Cortana with an avatar by DOATEC isn't a bad theory at this point either.

Okay, so if it is Cortana, maybe they explain it by saying that the Cortana image in Halo was based upon an ancient fighter that used to compete against women whose breasts alone outweighed her entire body. I think that would be a pretty easy way for them to get around it.

The bungie post says that they wrote the backstory of how the cross-over happened (most likely, DoATEC got ahold of cortana blah blah blah) and that TN created the character. Also, Team Ninja brought this idea to Bungie. eenteresting...

If nothing else, this is getting more people talking about DOA4 and Halo 3.

Miranda Keyes could be a possibility too, but I doubt it since she isn't a very prominent or popular character in the series.
