This seems to be flying under the radar so I figured I post a thread about it

Its only $30 which is pretty good. I did like Doom 3 on the Xbox/

New story mode that is around 12 hours, more weapons, new mutant powers, more multiplayer levels, more expansive levels that aren't just hallways, etc...

This really snuck up on me and I didn't realize that the story mode was that significant in length. They really didn't do a good job advertising this one to Xbox fans. I'm definitely going to get this soon though.

Oh, and a lot of the PC reviews for this say that this is the game the original Doom 3 should've been.

Methinks it's time to use a GGC + RZ cert + McD's bucks on this one and get it for $15. :D

I'm planning on getting Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath with those two picks since they're all $30 at TRU.

Is it true there is no co-op in this game?

I heard the developers of the original Doom 3 for the Xbox arent making this game so I'll wait for some reviews before deciding to purchase it.

Classic content - Ultimate DOOM, DOOM II, and all new Master Levels for DOOM II classic content, playable in single player, split-screen 2-4 player co-op and deathmatch modes

So much for the fuckin' collector's edition.

Yeah, suddenly this expansion is looking a hell of a lot better than the CE or regular versions of the original release.

At least I know if my DOOM CE disk fucks up, I can use the content on the RoE disk to play DOOM & DOOM 2.

Yeah, those of us who bought the CE, this certainly is a WTF.

I've heard that it was nixed on Live, but not if it was nixed all together.

I hate Madden and most football games.

Doom 3 LE was the only CE that was worth the extra dinero, now we could get the exact same thing for almost half the price.. highway robbery, that's what that is.

I know what you mean, but if this doesn't have COOP on LIVE than the original is still better. By the way I don't play Madden either or sports games in general :-P

So this is the original Doom and the expansion pack all on one disk instead of a Halo 2 mappack sort of thing?

The PC version of resurrection of Evil was awesome. The double-barreled shotgun was the most satisfying way to blast someone I've ever encountered in a video game.

If anybody can do this on the xbox or PC Ill mention that the PC is $5-$10 on clearance at Target. YMMV of course.

Why would they include the original Doom 3 on the disk? "Hey guys, let's cut our profit!"

I was waiting for the review all day.

I bought it, regardless -- haven't cracked it open yet. I had some credit to waste until Stubbs the Zombie came out, anyway.

this is lots more fun than the original. More open levels, less repetition, and still has the classic doom stuff.. great package.

I agree.

$30 is a reasonable price, too. Too bad they didn't include online co-op, though.

I may pick it up at TRU's B2G1F sale in a couple weeks. I still haven't finished Doom 3, but for paying roughly $20 for it, it's not a bad deal at all.

I still need to beat Doom 3 before I start playing this, I am interested though. Also can anyone tell me how much further I have to go in Doom 3? It's been awhile since I played it, but I know I was in hell.
