cfreeze and I tried multiple times to get our game in. Same problem. Excessive lag, then a drop, yet no win was awarded, so I'm not sure who's dropping.

The strange thing is, we both can play other people without the slightest hint of lag. I guess the two of us just have a terrible connection versus each other?

Anyway, it really sucks, but give the win to cfreeze. Sorry we couldn't get it done...I wish I knew why.

Ugh, see thats one reason I'm glad to be in leagues like these rather than play random people online cause people always need to find glitches and cheesey moves to win thier games, and those can be contained and dealt with in leauges like this. I'm fine with a loss to someone whos playing fair and square like my game with thatstoobad (which ended up a hell of a game), but anytime I find cheaters it just pisses me off.

I did have very similar problems trying to play Jordan on the same Xbox as Brad, so maybe something is messing up with the router on their end, but I highly doubt it, especially if you can play fine with other people. I had a night where it wouldn't let me and sighlintbob connect to play a game, but it would do optimatch just fine for both of us. Stupid servers.

the site gave him cerdit for the win, so it works out as far as stats and stuff are concerned. in the future, i would suggest trying to avoid going to your online desk during games. i accidentally did once and it dropped the connection.

yeah, i'm pretty sure that all the stats and the results from the game are lost. i don't understand what the problem is, so i don't know if there's any way to avoid the problem. it's not 100% necessary to replay the game, as i can just simulate the game and give the appropriate person the win, but it kind of takes away from the fun of keeping up with all the stats and stuff. so hopefully they'll fix whatever the problem may be.

No official fix or workaround has been posted as far as I could find. One user suggests waiting a few minutes post game before backing out.

Dafoomie and I got our game in. Took a drop though since I got a dirty disc error. Sorry 'bout that. I'm gonna go and try to exchange the disc today and hopefully that resolves the issue. He was already up 1-0 nearing the end of the second period, so the results are fine with me. I'll post when I get a new disc and if that resolves the issue otherwise someone might have to take over for me. I'd hate to drop out on another game in the league. Sorry again.

Edit: Found the receipt and it's dated 9/10/05. Well past the exchange policy so it looks like I'm stuck with the game. I emailed 2Ksports tech support, but I doubt they'll be of much help considering the threads I read in their forums dealing with the same problem.

If you guys can find a replacement, I think I might have to sit this one out. It's just far too sporadic an issue to keep playing.

In other good news, my new Xbox drive should be here on Monday, eliminating my long load times. Ive been having really weird problems with the drive...its a Samsung and always loads the data, its just dreadfully noisy and slow... Just led to long waits to show a highlight and the like.

the game can definitely be entered as a sabres victory, but it will be a 0-0 score. i can make sure the person who deserves the win gets it, but i can't do anything about goals/stats.

radjago, thanks for posting those links. i guess all i can suggest is that once the game ends, go grab a soda or beer, then come back and then exit the game when you come back (assuming it takes you a couple minutes). it might be a pain in the ass to have to wait the few extra minutes, but if it means there's a greater chance of the games actually being registered, i think it's worth it.

Right, sorry Ive been such a pain...getting way to into the whole league thing :). I appreciate all of your efforts in this. Im trying to get ahold of ElDirty, but he hasnt responded as of yet.

Talked over things with thatstoobad regarding the league and my dirty disc errors. Since I can't go and exchange the disc anymore, I'll likely encounter errors and dropouts during league games. it's going to end up that you have 2 days prior to leaving to get your game in, sunday the 20th and monday the 21st (i think). you'll be playing the st. louis blues that week. i would suggest trying to get your game in on one of those two days if you could (maybe even try to work out a time now, if that's even possible this early). depending on how the rest of the games go that week, i'd be willing to hold off a bit, but if your game is the only one holding things up, i'll probably simulate it. sorry.

another thing, maybe i don't have to point this out, but i will just in case. you guys should try to schedule games, rather than just hoping to catch your opponant online at any given time. when you see who you play for the current week, send your opponant a PM with your available times for the next few days (or maybe even the whole week if you can). then the other person can reply with a time. it's pretty simple. if you don't know when you will be available, send them a PM asking them when they will be able to play and work from there. the point is this: try to PLAN a time for your games, instead of just hoping for the best.

i guess we're looking for a replacement for anaheim now, which is too bad, since i consider stevemcq a valuable member of the league. he always got his games in and i think he was definitely a strong contender to go far this year, if not all the way. maybe something will happen to where he can play, like a new disc falling from the heavens or something.

when you play your games, please wait for the entire post game presentation to finish. this seems to increase the chances of the game registering on the site. last week we waited for the entire thing to play through and it registered. i just played my game for the week and we didn't wait for the entire post game presentation to play all the way through, and the game didn't register on the site. maybe there is no real correlation between the two, but it's still worth a try.

ok, i updated the results. i think i could go back and change last week's scores, but i would have to retreat the schedule, change the scores, then advance it again, then simulate the results of these games again, and i don't feel like it. simulating the scores seems to be purely cosmetic anyways, as it doesn't seem to alter the goals for/against statistic available on the standings page.

i think the whole thing has taken some of the fun out of the league, at least for me. it's too bad, really.

Me too. The whole stat tracking is always one of my favorite aspects as well. We might as well be doing our own pen and paper league if they aren't going to track stats properly. Have the devs even commented on when the problem might be fixed?

Like I had told Matt, when we were at the matchup screen, my teams stats were all at zero and when the game would load, it would give me a buzzing noise and basically freeze. It may have been something to do with whatever problems 2Ksports may be having or just bad luck on our part for the league since I've had no other probs this year with games. Yeah I just checked and it didn't. Sucks cause it was a good game and Hejduk got a hat trick, though a few goals slipped in thanks to people on the wrong team putting it into the goal. That second period was really intense with all the back and forth plays.

And I never really realized how boring the post-game commentary was. He kept talking about how Colorado could have extended their 1 goal lead into 2, but it was a 2-goal game.

In the interest of not missing a week, I played a game versus the CPU version of the Ducks. I set the gameplay to fairest possible settings. Difficulty level was set to Rookie and, due to an injury sustained in the pregame warm ups, the Ducks were forced to put their back up into action. Sadly, the back up was struck by a sudden on set of the Avian flu. To thier credit, Anaheim continued on without a goaltender.

The final score was NYR 42 Ducks 0. Jagr managed a personal best of 15 goals and Kevin Weeks is still celebrating his first hat trick. Good Game!

The Bruins were off to a rough start and shaking up the team is probably not a bad idea. That being said, whoever thought the best way of shaking up the team would be to rip out it's heart and trade it to San Jose should be locked in a room with Todd Bertuzzi for a couple of hours.

I called fxrival and let him know what was up, but I just wanted to state that I had told him I'd be available on Thursday and didn't deliver, and yesterday I wasn't able to get on Live.
