Regarding the games not registering, I have found that exiting the game relatively quickly after it ends and not watching the post game videos tends to help the game register. Whenever I wait to see the three stars or post game highlights, it doesn't register. I know this goes against the general consensus on other message boards, but I have not had a problem yet. The only time my game doesn't register is if I wait too long to exit.

Nice game Cheapy. My very first shootout. How very exciting. Also, I agree with Jordan about the exiting quickly thing. I had never had a game not register until I started trying to exit out slowly. The best way for me has been to exit as soon as it starts showing the stars of the game.

I tried a game yesterday...froze up in the second period. I'm gonna see today if turning off the commentary helps any (it seems to bottle up with the commentary and after that it freezes). If that gets me through a game, I'll PM you about a game time.

I was playing R&C Going Commando and blew up a bunch of polar bear looking enemies over and over in one level. radjoago and i replayed out game earlier tonight, where i was able to manage an 8-5 win. datsyuk had 5 goals and an assist, which was kind of cool. it actually registered, which is a total bonus.

maybe everyone just has to play their games twice to get them to register. sounds easy enough.

I've had good experiences with Jaket and AJH (never played Keyser) and I myself was unable to get online for various reasons during this league, so I don't want to cast judgment just yet. hey, i just wanted to let everyone know that ajh contacted me via PM and he is going to miss this week's game due to some personal issues, but he is still into playing in the league and hopes to be back to be able to play next week's game.

also, fxrival, please let me know if you have made ANY contact with jaket about your game, if you haven't, chances are i will adjust the schedule accordingly (meaning ottawa will play anaheim every week, thus making it an 18 team league, unless stevemcq thinks he'll be able to get a replacement disc any time soon).

Doubtful as I've dropped almost 4k on some goodies the past few days. Though $20 in the grand scheme of things isn't much, the lack of support with a faulty disc (MLB was also the same for me), and the issues with games not registering just don't sit well with me. Just really shoddy from my point of view. I shall make a comeback though in next year's 360 league and promptly get my ass handed to me.

It's a known issue with the leagues, but there doesn't seem to be a fix or a workaround for it yet. Hopefully there will be before the end of the season.

Well I play Ottawa next week of the schedule so definitely let us know if you're fixing the league by putting Anaheim and Ottawa together every week. i just finished my game with tjordan and it was a really, really great game. he scored first about halfway through the first, but then i tied it up a few minutes later. then he scored in the second period, but i came right back and scored the next shift. i scored another goal early in the third to take the lead 3-2. he then scored to tie it up, and with something like 3 minutes left, he scored again to take the lead 4-3. with 30 seconds left, zetterberg skated around the new jersey defense with a last ditch effort and put one in over the goalie's shoulder to tie the game 4-4. draper took a mid ice shot with just seconds left that went in just after time expired, so the game went to overtime. about a minute into overtime, yzerman had a scoring chance that left the goalie out of position, allowing robert lang to pick up the rebound and throw it in the net for a 5-4 overtime win.

of course, this game didn't register. i have decided that 2k6 is defective and we should all be offered our money back.

Yeah, that was a great game. When I had the puck with 1:30 left, I debated whether or not to skate in circles behind my net and waste time. I decided not to. Oh, how I regret that....lol.

I rented it from Gamefly and still have it, it plays nice but no different than the X-Box version to me. And it looks like crap IMO, even the cut scenes look no better than the X-Box or PS2 versions.

I've got it and like it as well, but you're right about the goalies. They probably did it intentionally to encourage people to use the goalie crease control. I'm still trying to get used to it. It is pretty rewarding when you know you stopped a shot without depending on the computer AI.

Yeah, the crease control is really fun...I think I'm finally used to it.
The bad thing about the goalies is that I can bump up the sliders and skill level to HOF and I still score 15-20 goals per game consistantly in my franchise.

When Repetske and I went to play our game, the 2K Sports service was "temporarily unavailable," so we played an exhibition.

It was a hard fought 2-1 game, with Repetske holding the upper hand until I tied it up with a few minutes remaning in the third.

We battled deep into overtime, with both Pasi Nurminen and Marty Brodeur putting on a show. Breakaway after breakaway was denied, as well as a Jan Hrdina penalty shot.

Eventually, Kozlov (Viktor, not Slava) picked up a loose puck, deked through 3 Thrasher players fresh off of the bench, and took the puck in on Nurminen. Pasi stopped the first attempt with a quick glove hand, but Kozlov batted in his own rebound out of the air to win it by a score of 3-2 in 2OT.

as repetske said, it took us forever to finally get our game going, but we finally did and it turned out to be a pretty good one. i mean, it would have been better if i had actually won, but i close 4-3 loss is respectable.

here's something interesting: during one of our failed attempts, i noticed that my lines were all messed up, so in between games i tried to edit my lines. i went to the edit lines screen, and up came the lines for anaheim, which would have been fine if it wasn't for the fact that my team is detroit.

Well I got to play CheapyD last night and lost yet again. This time I scored the first goal for Cheapy and then he scored two more. I had a little bit of a comback but lost 3-2. Man do I suck at this game. It is still fun to play I just wish I could a least win a few.

Hmmm...yeah, something does seem weird about thatstoobad and his losing streak. Maybe he is laying low before the playoffs, but that deosnt make too much sense. We aren't even halfway through the season. And laying low would only come back to bite him when he had to play the higher seeds in the playoffs.

That was a really good game last night, thatstoobad. We matched each other goal for goal, and it was my second game to end in a 3-3 tie and a shootout. The last time that happened, I lost 4-3, but I was fortunate enough to win this time.

That was the most intense and fun game of NHL 2K6 I have ever played, and only my 2nd legit win. No doubt, you are the better player by far, but I'm confident in my abilities now that I have defeated a couple really good guys. Thanks for the great game, and hopefully sometime we can get an exhibition game in (since I never play the game outside of the league) where you can use the mic and inevitably kick my ass.

my game last night with matt was pretty great. everytime i would score, he'd come back and tie it up. we both had a ton of shots, but not much really found it's way in. it sucked losing just because i was so close to winning, but i can easily handle when the game ends up being that good.

nearly every game i've played this year has been very close. i think i won big in one game early, and i got blown out by brad (or jordan, who knows, i think that they may be the same person), but i don't think i've had any other game end with more than a 2 goal difference. i know i've had at least 3 overtime games, and i've had 2 games go to a shoot out (i pulled it out against cheapyd but lost to matt last night).

i don't know if it's the 2k6 game (as opposed to the 2k5 game), or just the players in the league, but i don't think there are any games this year where you know who's going to win (unlike my incredible, record setting regular season performance last year).

anyways, i need to play the game more. i haven't really been playing it outside of league games, and i'm still not that great at scoring, and since everyone seems to be getting better, i should probable practice a bit.

all that being said, i don't plan on losing another game this season. and if i do, i'll just change the results.
