Some of the guides come with plastic wrap. This one did. I've also had wrapped guides of Starfox Adventures, MechAssault 2, LOTR:TTA, etc.

Wow I also have that guide, I never used it but it does not have plastic on it. I was thinking about putting this and the game(XB) up on e-bay together this weekend like 5 minutes ago.

I noticed that the guide was going for around $30 last week. I even made a topic on here questioning its rarity and value, but nobody really commented or knew much about it. Oh well, if only more penny guides could see this return.

It's probably so highly sought after because of the oh-so-stupid nuclear reactor part (that Colossus is holding up). If you don't use Jean Grey or Storm, you're screwed at that part of the game.
These poor E-suckers need to know how to get past it, and obviously never heard of GameFAQs or Google.
It really is crazy how the guide is selling for well over twice the price of the game...

okay...and then?? The lowest price was $20 (not including BIN), the highest was $41. That's completely abnormal for a game guide. Most guides are lucky to go for $3+Shipping, and a bid-war is never a factor. Perhaps you're getting the listings confused with all the cheaper XML:2 guide listings.
