I'm interested in the title. Wish a demo was out so I could test out the controls. From the previews it seems to use alot of the analog stick for different movements. (ex QB Evade, Jukes, etc.)

Didn't know if you guys seen this, but here's the commercial that won't be aired on the NFL Network.....and on that note I will be picking this game up.

Looks awesome.. I'll give it a rent and wait for a drop, only because there's no online play.

edit: Uh oh, it's on Live. I may get this after all.

Hoping that a demo comes out somewhere, but I'll likely just wait for a nice drop on it.

If I buy one football game this year then Blitz: The League will be it. If it ends up good, that is.... which I think it will, as it looks great right now. But you never know.

If I buy a football game this year to complement Madden, it's gonna be Blitz.

If it has Live I just may pick it up now. Otherwise I'll rent first and buy later. Sending hookers to the opposing team sounds awesome!!

This game has so much potential.

There is a coupon in EB's preview book this month that gives you a ten dollar voucher when your purchase this game. Not sure it's worth all the hassle. Just throwing it up in the air

Eh, Forza was okay, but I'm just not a fan of racing sims. I suck at the customization, and the car club failed. I've barely touched the game in the last few months. I much prefer Burnout.

The game looks alot like NFL Street. Looks like offense rules the field, not alot of plays, big hits, etc. Didn't like street but prob will give this a shot but got other things higher on my list for now.

I like the NFL's official "head in the sand" policy regarding their player's off field antics. Vikings anyone?

So... the game has a skirmish mode, right?

Kind of disappointed it apparently just has no regular season mode to speak of, and only has a "campaign" mode.

You know, I don't even watch football, let alone play NFL (sim) videogames, but I might have to pick this up. I loved NFL Blitz in the arcades and on my N64, and this looks like a lot of fun.

Gonna read more reviews first, of course, or hear some of your impressions.

I love this game. I just bought it today at BB with the GGC for 35 and am loving it. I've just played some quick games, but i love seeing it go to to an xray of the bone when i hit. Like i hit, it cuts to an xray of his leg, and his knee shatters, then it goes back to the field. Fucking awesome.

Is the game more sim like or still arcade / blitz 2002 like?

I may do a trade or two for this. I know I said I would wait, but the Blitz games were among my favorite back in the day.. I can't really stand normal football games like Madden or ESPN NFL, but damn, was I down for some Blitz back in the day. Kinda the same way I hated NBA games but loved NBA Jam.

I'm thinking about trading in a couple games and picking this up tomorrow. Tecmo Super Bowl with the 2005 rosters will get me through until then though. There's nothing like seeing Carson Palmer throw a touchdown pass to Chad Johnson in all it's 8-bit glory.

OXM gave it a fairly low score (low 7s, can't remember the exact number). Read the review and they barely talked about the football gameplay at all. Really odd/worthless review. Tell me how the running game works, the passing game. Is it balanced - i.e. is it nearly impossible to gain yards on the ground so you'll find yourself throwing every down, or is it pretty easy to chew up yardage on the ground so that's pretty much all you have to do? How does defense play? Telling me about the side stuff is nice, but really I'd buy the game mainly for the football, right?

IGN's review OTOH does a fairly good job of breaking this down, check the top of page 2: http://xbox.ign.com/articles/659/659510p2.html

In two words: money plays. That's a big problem with any sports game.

The game does seem like an interesting twist however. I'll probably wait and pick it up for $10 early next year.

I picked Blitz up earlier today. It's my first dip into a football video game. The last football game I played was Madden 2001 (or something) for N64. Before that, I think I played "Football" for Atari 2600. :B

Played a little bit of the training portion of the game. The combos and time slow-down thing is pretty interesting.

I'm gonna play some after work, tonight.

It's pretty fun, but I think i'm doing things wrong.. I usually just get a normal sack (and the occasional one where I hit the guy so hard we fly offscreen and his helmet pops off). I'm not that good at football games. It's fun though, I played a game or two. The "BRAWL!" is hilarious. I liked the injuries.. they juicdd a guy that had a messed up shoulder, then I took out one guy's kneecap and he was out for 8 games. I got so pissed though, I did a nice, long pass (almost a hail mary), and my guy was wide open. I took it and ran with it, taunting, and at the two yard line, the guy on the other team dove, tripped my guy, and I fumbled the ball. That's okay, though, because I intercepted it the next play.

I do like the customization in it.

So what are the modes in this? I can't find a review that mentions them all... I know there is a "campaign", which is like a sort of franchise, but is there just a straight season mode? What about a quick play mode?

Season, no (IIRC), quick play, yes

So my choices are quick play (like scrimmage, pick any team I want), campaign, and online?

Was kind of hoping for a season mode, where I could be any team and just run through a season straight... still worth getting if I'm not going to be taking it online? I just want a good football experience, and I'm worried that with only quick play and campaign this game will get boring quickly.

do you have xbox live or ps2 online? that can give some replay value...

i just got this...really fun game...the little things make this game's presentation awesome...the actual gameplay is great and responsive...it really makes you feel like it's a "hardcore" league...i like :D

Nuts. I really don't think I need three football games this year. I've already picked up Madden and NFL Street 2 but Blitz looks good. Those of you who have this already, is Blitz a different enough gameplay experience from both Madden and Street to justify a purchase?

I picked this game up for the Xbox, seeing as how I loved the old Blitz games and the new story mode and Live play interested me. I played a couple games, and damn, I was disappointed. I really did not like the game.

Then I tried the tutorials. They were tough at points, and Lawrence Taylor shouted more obscenities at me than my mother ever had, but after finishing, I played another exhibition game and I realized soemthing. This game is awesome!

It has all the stuff from the old Blitz games, but so much more. Matrix/bullet-time like Clash Mode, dirty hits where you can snap guys' bones and tendons in half, hilarious player taunts and touchdown celebrations, and so much more.

I had a hard time putting the game down, and that's just on 1 player exhibition mode. I haven't even started the season (since I have to create a team while on Live to use it online) or played on Live since it's down today, but damn, I love this game.

I've never played the Street games so I can't compare the two, but for thoseof you who don't have this, I highly recommend it.
